    Pros

The money was excellent and the product we served was very good. Company was respectful and surprisingly fair for the restaurant industry. Wine program in particular was very well structured.

    Cons

Kitchen management did not know my name after 9 months and very good job performance. A kitchen full of screamers in the old restaurant tradition. It even shocked and scared guests a little bit

    Advice to Management

Tone down kitchen authority just a little bit. I have also worked in old-school fine restaurants where the kitchen is a place to fear. That time in restaurants is now out-dated. The staff at Lincoln often leaves in part because of treatment from the kitchen

    Pros

day schedule, set schedule, free food, benefit package for full-time employees, many restaurant in popular locations in the East Coast: Macy's, Empire State Building, MetLife Building, Rochefeller Center, and others.

    Cons

High turnover of low-level managers, cronyism, policy against suggesting gratuities--this was an issue because most of the customers were foreigners--, lack of formal company culture, and others.

    Advice to Management

Middle management seem detached from daily operations of the restaurant, lack of initiative, boring menu, passive management, bureocratic, inefficient and ineffective use of resources, the restaurant was run on autopilot, mediocere performance management. In the service industry your the employees are your first customer; if you do not treat them well, they will not serve well.

    Pros

Nice restaurants and the food is great.. You are entitled to free lunches during your shift. Guests are usually very pleasant too.

    Cons

Long hours with short breaks, sometimes they even ask you not to clock in for 30 mins to an hour so that there won't be any legal consequences for them and surprisingly most employees agree to that! They are constantly trying to underpay their workers, so do yourself favor and check your checks, especially the last ones, if you ever decide to leave this terrible company.
Management is completely unprofessional and most managers do not even have relevant, if any, education. A lot of managers need to to improve their English language skills - even hourly staff often communicates more clearly. Overall, the company and the owners are completely unethical and only care about their profit.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with respect and promote more ethical culture. Management needs more training.

    Pros

Non-seasonal employees receive full health care for nominal charge through the union. Holiday season provides many opportunities to work and make great money. Regular customers (from NBC and other corporate/businesses in building and nearby) comprise a good deal of breakfast and lunch business.

    Cons

Frustrating conditions: Want servers to perform at fine dining level but don't provide support staff to do so. Attracts many tourists who think it is a cafe or diner and are shocked by prices (and therefore do not order much). Junior management is routinely stressed and either take it out on staff or have difficulty handling issues.

    Advice to Management

Become clear about direction taking restaurant and follow that direction through so it's consistent.
