    I worked at Patio1 full-time

    Pros

Great learning environment. Not like any other stores because they actually educate you about the products instead of forcing you to sell things that you have no idea about. You have the ability to make good money if you know what you're doing.

    Cons

Some of the people who work there are nice and some are not. But it's easy to manage as long as you know you're there to do your job. And you have to always listen carefully and pay a lot of attention to details because they like everything to be precise or a certain way.

    Advice to Management

Work can also be a fun environment.

    I worked at Patio1 full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The employees at Patio1 are what make the company what it is. They are strong, sweet, caring, and motivated to do their very best. They put up with much more than they should have to from the management.

    Cons

The owner is abusive...verbally, physically, and emotionally. He goes through employees like he does dirty socks. He is racist and sexist. He is training a successor to his business to be like-minded and it is sad. It is a small family owned company that will go downhill fast if the owner and his son don't change their lying, wicked ways.

    Advice to Management

Sell to someone who can run the business in a respectful manner. You are rude to your employees, your customers, and your vendors. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

    Pros

Nice designer showrooms, in all locations.

    Cons

This store is a hidden lie. The owner is a major control freak, and he is so full of himself, no one can stick around long enough to work with him, and even if they do, he is so controling that he will dispose of anyone and set schedules but have no regards to other's plans around the schedules and abuses the new people to come in whenever he calls them to. He is a presumptuous man, and I would not apply to work here. He also thinks he doesn't need your business because if you don't have enough money to shop there, then don't waste his time negotiating. He says that designer lines are his own "private label" because he doesn't want people to shop his showroom for better prices. YOU DON'T NEED TO GIVE PRESUMPTUOUS PEOPLE LIKE HIM BUSINESS.

    Advice to Management

Get over yourself and learn how to manage people and have lose the control.

    I worked at Patio1 full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible hours if you set a contract when you get hired. You have a great understanding about patio furniture when you are ready to purchase some did your home . Some of the employees are nice.

    Cons

Constant lectures from the owner. Micro managing. Always getting negative feed back by the owner about standards not being meet. Commission base salary. Owner gives unreasonable expectation upon hiring. Owner gives hope to making a large amount of money but not even the employees that have been there for years are struggling. Having to live off of base pay. Working 6 days one week then 5 the next. Not being able to take vacation days when you want. Having to get approved of days and then having the owner state that your days can not be used in a certain way. Having your schedule change abruptly. Very high turn over. It's like a revolving door. People do not stay long enough.

    Advice to Management

Stop lecturing everyone. You can not preach one thing and do another. Stop being a judge mental. Although you say you are not YOU actually are. Do not threaten your employees. Scare tactics is no the way to keep or in your case get rid of your employees. Have respect for everyone that works for you.
