    Pros

Paul Davis in Manassas really strives to add growing team members to its workforce - constantly investing in training, employee initiatives, and the ability to turn your position into a career within the company with enough effort. This is the youngest group within the Paul Davis franchisees, and from my experience, the most fun and maintains the ability to act quickly and change where needed without the slow molasses-like progress of other companies.

The company continues to grow both itself and its subsidiaries by employing willing, hard working individuals as techs who have the opportunity to rise to project managers, warehouse managers, and team leads - it's a perfect fit for someone looking for a break that can turn into a career.

While there are always growing pains - when it comes to employers, to not be growing is to be shrinking, and that spells career disaster. Paul Davis has made a name for itself in the restoration market in the DMV area and I suspect will continue to do so for decades to come.

    Cons

Franchise Restrictions do not allow this company to work outside of its boundaries taxing some employees who may have longer commutes.

    Advice to Management

Keep investing in growing your workforce.

    Pros

Able to gain experience with in the industry. New college grad would benefit if trying to break into the market.

    Cons

Depending on the market and area of the country will determine your success. Also, it is a franchise based company and not all owners have experience in the industry.

I worked at Paul Davis Restoration full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Ummm...... none. Nothing is good about this place. If I must write some kind of pro.... than it will be the day you quit will be the happiest day.

    Cons

Micro management. You may think you have overtime..... no you don't. They will figure out a way to take it. Don't worry about your "great" ideas. To them, it's the dumbest idea ever and you're a moron for thinking it. You get promised a bonus system..... Haven't seen that check yet and it's been almost 1 year.

    Advice to Management

KEEP YOUR PROMISES!! That's one of your values and you can't do it. RESPECT THE INDIVIDUAL. Another one of your values and you can't do it.

I worked at Paul Davis Restoration full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Took my suggestions to better the company seriously, although they did not have the time to implement them.
    - Great work/life balance: you are in charge of your schedule as long as you can get the estimates in on time
    - If you're a trade looking for steady work, PDR can offer it consistently
    - Once you get the hang of the job, it's pretty simple
    - company car/driving compensation 50 cents/mile

    Cons

In the first half of my employment, the company was feeling a lot of growing pains and was working through an adjustment period. It started out with all new, inexperienced estimators & project managers which inherently made processes more challenging. However, most of those employees are now fully trained and in the swing of things, but PDR still faces many challenges.

    - Takes a long time to see a job turned around on the Project manager side
    - PMs are generally overworked and careless about job costs which can ruin your bonus
    - Management is also overworked and unable to focus on the things that really need to happen to make the company better.
    - Coworkers and management hardly ever call you back, hard to get information to do your own job. leads to babysitting.
    - Trades are careless and disorganized
    - It takes forever to get any bonus because jobs never close.
    - Customers are very unhappy

    Advice to Management

There is a lot of change that still needs to happen and lots that is planned to happen soon, but PDR will be light years better as a result! Organization will be key and the managers will need to be sure they are prioritizing what they pay attention to.
