I worked at PayLess Drug full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Cons

Higher up people thought too much of themselves, and didn't really have too much concern for the people who did the work

    Flexible hours, location was good

    Cons

Poorly staffed, constant turmoil, very high attrition rate

    Advice to Management

train all staff better, treat people with respect and avoid guilt tripping, instead, coach people, and do not base evaluations of one employee on the inaccurate musings of another disgruntled employee.

I have been working at PayLess Drug full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Long term care pharmacy is a great field to work in

    Cons

No longer focused on top notch patient care. Now main focus is strictly money

    Advice to Management

Don't forget the patients. Don't forget that employees are people and not robots or slaves

    Cons

I have been working at PayLess Drug (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Customer driven, great co-workers, fun perks.

    Cons

Could have better communication from dept heads. More thorough training would help out a lot.

    Advice to Management

Make your help feel more appreciated for a job well done and better communications concerning day to day operations.

    Pros

PLEASE WORK HERE, WE'RE SO DESPERATE THAT YOU CAN PROBABLY NEGOTIATE FOR ANY SALARY/SCHEDULE YOU WANT.

Better than retail. Desk, consistent schedule, zero public interaction, less angry customers, easier training because it's not done in public eye, no dealing with insurance (there's a dept for that). Unlimited overtime=$$. Cool immediate coworkers. 24 hour pharmacy=flexible schedule. Great for students as a "stepping stone" job.

    Cons

New software/ownership=difficult transitional period. High turnover=quickly becoming a veteran though.

    Advice to Management

Immediate supervisor is amazing. She's a tech and works along with us when she can. Not passive aggressive and no micro-managing; she'll let you generally find your own methods and work style as long as you get your work done. Upper mgmt is a joke. Sexist, condescending, men who know nothing about pharmacy and make it difficult for my supervisor to do her job. My advice to uppers is to either go to pharmacy school or let the people who know what they're doing make the important decisions. Business majors are just the worst.

I have been working at PayLess Drug full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most of the coworkers are really great to work with, friendly, and helpful.

    Cons

High turnover due to poor promotions with company acquisition. Promoting without interviews, giving handouts to some while working other loyal employees to death without raises or praise. There is no raise system in place so in order to make more you have to work an alternate shift (graveyard, etc)or apply for another internal position.management does not listen to suggestions for improvement and there are few perks. Gossip and two faced managers.

    Advice to Management

Start rewarding your loyal employees and opening up more advancement opportunities. Listen to suggestions and try to implement them.
