I have been working at PayPal full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Benefits. Medical benefits are superior compared to other any other company I have worked with before. Great 401k match.

    Cons

HR department is a complete joke. Any issues that you have are in no way shape or form confidential and will get reported back to your supervisor or the individual you are filing a complaint against. So be prepared to expect retaliation in the form of abuse, wage freezes, and any other way your supervisor can make your life miserable.

If you are considering becoming pregnant or already are, be prepared to be treated horribly before, during, and after your maternity leave. Especially in the compliance department which is ran by a bunch on misogynists.

The new attendance policy is a slap in the face. Especially considering the company strives to promote family values, this hurts individuals with family members the most.

This company uses metrics to deny pay increases. Even when you are meeting and exceeding metrics it's still not enough. They will find ways to alter metrics to deny tip and increases. On average consider yourself lucky if you see metrics once every two months.

    Advice to Management

Clean house on HR. And if you've seen several complaints on a TL consider that it is an issue with them and not the employee. Also take a look at a particular TL in your Omaha Compliance office. It looks really bad when she threatens to fire a TM one day before their maternity leave.

Oh and reconsider your new attendance policy, it's only going to cost you good employees.

I have been working at PayPal full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Co-workers, fun environment, great onsight family activities

    Cons

Terrible attendance policy alloting for only 5 call-ins during a rolling 12 month period does not allow for unforseen life happenings. Recent changes to the policy were supposedly to align with other centers throughout the world which I believe to be a outright lie. A simple search on EU labor laws found that US employees are allowed far less time off with no annual vacation days. Sick time must be accrued starting at the beginning of each year leaving no room for getting sick during winter, a time most people are apt to becoming ill. As it stands an employee cannot call-in for being legitimately sick until sometime in April of each year. Once a manager actually told their employees that while he understands things happen, but we should try avoid anything happening during our work days. This is especially insulting coming from someone not personally affected by the policy.
Process policies are changed frequently with little to no notice and offer no grace period to ensure employees understand and are implementing the changes correctly.
Advancement is based on who you know not your abilities.

    Advice to Management

Stop relying on stats that are admittedly incorrect for bonus and raises. If you are not willing to do this then at least stop using them as a humiliation tactic by sending them out on a weekly basis to the entire department.
Be honest about why things are changing (see above about the new attendance policy for example).
Consider offering annual vacation time as opposed to a month long sabbatical offered once every five years. I would gladly give up my sabbatical for two weeks vacation each year.

I worked at PayPal full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, excellent benefits, good work/ home balance, room for advancement and opportunities to grow with the company. Employees are well trained in a pretty extensive training program before being on their own.

    Cons

Management had definite room for improvement. There is a lack of consistency in expectations between supervisors. Not everybody is held to the same rules and some managers had favorite employees that could get away with anything.

    Pros

Potential to make a great income, phenomenal benefits, great work/life balance. Casual dress code and the ability to work from home.

    Cons

Goals are very hard to attain, change happens far too slow. Quotas and the compensation structure need some serious review.

I have been working at PayPal (More than a year)

    Pros

Honestly there's not a lot. The job is great for the first 1-2 years, after a while you're treated like crap.
These reviews are based on employees who have worked in the company for a few years.

    Cons

There's a lot, more then I can think of.
After the excitement of "PayPal is an awesome company" wears off then everything starts showing.

Management sucks from the very top to direct supervisors.

YOURE NOT GRADED ON HOW WELL YOU DO THE JOB.
It's you're personality and NOT how well you do the job.

    THE COMPANY IS DOWNSIZING!

    Advice to Management

    Be more transparent.
Working with the company I can read you like a book.
    company is downsizing.

5stars so that the company will read this review.

The management and company will only read positive reviews and disregard negative reviews.

A ton of employees more than 1,000 do you REALLY THINK your words are going to matter ANYWHERE??????

Too many employees because the company doesn't know business.

Tons of cases, let's hire 20 people.
No more cases... let's fire them.
