I worked at Paychex Insurance Agency full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Paychex as an organization is solid and Marti Mucci is stellar.

    Cons

The leadership in the agency is horrible. They are bias and "clicky" versus recognizing true talent. There has been a ton of turn over due to the Senior Leader and lack of knowledge, leadership, retention of information and delivering on promises.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes to the talent and not just be a "club"

I have been working at Paychex Insurance Agency full-time

    Pros

The people are great and made it easy to go to work.

    Cons

Leadership doesn't want free thinkers, on the contrary they want people to follow them even if it means heading over a cliff.

    Advice to Management

You should foster an environment that allows people to more easily express their thoughts without the fear of retaliation. They preach values but fail to live by them.

I worked at Paychex Insurance Agency full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Plenty of training and resources available. Mobility within organization. Clean work environment.

    Cons

Low Pay, high turnover with staff and management. In 2 years of working there I had 4 supervisors, and managers changed 3 times. This is not the job for you if you value the freedom of a flexible schedule.

    Advice to Management

Stay put, pay your employees more. Change from call center environment to one of a traditional insurance agency like your competitors.

I have been working at Paychex Insurance Agency full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great health and welfare benefits, flexible work schedules.

    Cons

The company pays for just a few paid holidays. The pay is low, and the work load is heavy. Processes are manual, and the company lags in innovation.

    Advice to Management

Invest in technology. Meet industry standards for pay!

    Pros

You learn a lot about the insurance industry. It is ever changing. Good training, pays for licensing class. Great benefits.

    Cons

Other than go on the appointment, SDAs handle most of the sale from gathering census information, running the quotes, scrubbing the applications, completing case submission, premium spreadsheet, deduction spread sheet, fill out service agreement and applications and telemarketing to get the agent appointments. There is no commission. You only get the bonus if the agents hit their number, It is a lot of work and responsibility for less that $20 a hour with no extra incentives.

    Advice to Management

Allow SDA's to make commission again!

I have been working at Paychex Insurance Agency full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Growing company with tons of advancement opportunity. Commission structure is fantastic, and company benefits are amazing. First company I've worked for in a long time, where quotas are actually realistic.

    Cons

Large company, so it takes a lot of time to learn how to navigate each department. Technology is just now catching up to some of the smaller tech companies. Even though compensation is great, base isn't very high.
