I have been working at Peabody full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay is decent despite the long hours. Sometimes have decent bonus.

    Cons

Long hours coupled with forced overtime. Yes genuinely forced overtime. People that call in on forced overtime shifts are being placed on corrective action and having their jobs threatened. Despite being incredibly short staffed. Bouncing around in equipment/ night shifts. General poor morale.

    Advice to Management

Stop being so concerned with your production bonuses. I know it’s a dying industry but you’re still managing people, not robots. Treat your employees like people and your crazy turnover rate may decrease.

I worked at Peabody full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Many of the people at the operations.

    Cons

Short-term decision making by executive management.
Focus on personal gains rather than the company.
Actual decision making is not congruent with stated culture/values.

I worked at Peabody full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The employees are great to work with.

    Cons

Benefits cut due to Obamacare, and bankruptcy. Lack of appreciation for long term employees. Pay used to be in line with market, because of small to no raises no longer at that point. Management cannot keep employees, some don't realize the amount of work other employees do, no recognition. Some departments can't seem to hire employees much less keep them putting additional pressure of current employees. Management works extra with new employees to train them as well as give them what they ask for but leave long term employees wanting.

    Advice to Management

    Take care of your employees.

I have been working at Peabody full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

7 days off. You can learn the art of deception from some of the supervisors. Some decent supervisors.

    Cons

Want to be in top management. Join the Mormon church. Dogmatic view by Management on how good their benefits are.

    Advice to Management

Keep going in the same direction . Your headed in the right direction that is well deserved.. Reorganization..Sell while you still can. Get money back from Greg Boyce.

I have been working at Peabody full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

In years past they were numerous. All benefits have dried up and gone away.

    Cons

Company is in total free fall with no clear sense of direction other than shed all lower level employees and try to centralize services.

    Advice to Management

Take satisfaction in the fact Peabody will be a case study for a post graduate degree.

    Pros

    good benefits
    tuition reimbursement
    good pay
acknowledge long term employees with an award ceremony on a yearly basis.

    Cons

    very political
will not purchase new technological hardware and software with IT infrastructure
focused on making a profit, not their employees
middle management does not value the every day employee
    does not think globally
still in the mindset of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality

    Advice to Management

Focus on the employees that work for you, not the almighty dollar. Management needs to encourage innovation, not fear of losing their jobs. The IT department is still in the dark ages. Monies need to be invested in the IT infrastructure ASAP.

I worked at Peabody full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent pay. Good roster and accommodation. Fellow workers are a good bunch of people. Other than that I can't recommend them.

    Cons

Nepotism is rife in this organisation. It's not what you know it's who you know here. Management surround themselves with friends and family looking out for each other's interests. HR look after the boys clubs because they benefit from them as well.

    Advice to Management

Clean out the self serving deadwood who run their little boys clubs.
