    Pros

Really appreciated working with the CEO, Matt as well as my boss, Emily Crader, as well as the team of seven. The developer with whom I worked is terrific as is the writer - one of the best team experiences I have had to date. Our admin and the other 4 were also super people, and I'd be thrilled work with any of them again.

    Cons

It seems the founder is having some challenges with delegating, and I trust that is improving.

Your communication with your employees feels genuine, but your honesty is often lacking.

    Pros

As a current employee I thought it was important to put an honest review from my personal experience. Peak Hosting is in a transition period due to unforeseen circumstances but they have never lied to me. Management has tackled the issue head on and are doing everything they can to keep the company heading in the right direction while sticking to our principal of take care of the employees and they will produce great work. There have been tough times and it's not an easy job most of the time. If you are looking for easy, please look elsewhere. Complaining about problems does nothing while finding solutions is what great engineering is all about.

    Cons

    Long hours are sometimes required
Need to be able to adapt

    Advice to Management

We appreciate what the company has done and is planning for the future.

    Pros

    - Majority of coworkers were friendly
    - Good benefits
    - Decent pay
    - Work from home

    Cons

Read the other reviews. The company "highly encourages" their active employees to write positive reviews. When I worked there I just couldn't do it, I didn't want to steer people in the wrong direction. You'll find a lot of the more truthful reviews in the 1-3 star range. Management has a very bad history of telling you lies or promising you one thing while doing something different. They have these core values which they tell you they live by but then they constantly contradict them and throw them out the window when convenient. Due to poor management (of both employees and financials) they suffered a great loss recently and ended up letting a large percentage of the company go and defaulting on a lot of their promises/agreements with their providers and vendors. They just filed for bankruptcy but it's not as bad as it sounds, they've restructured and made themselves leaner and meaner, they need to file bankruptcy to get all their defaulted loans and creditors off their back so that they can continue to go after some lost money but it shows you the nature of the company. Read the reviews, pay closer attention to the 1-3 star reviews than the 4 and 5 star reviews. Understand what you're getting yourself into if you choose this company. There's a lot of broken promises and lies. They'll tell you everything is fine and that they're doing great all the way up until they pull you into a meeting in order to let you go. No warnings. Management tells you what you want to hear, not what you need to hear. They don't encourage outside-the-box thinking, they'll tell you they do, but they were really really big on rules and procedures and regulations and red tape and so much bureaucracy that you couldn't get anything done. They did most of this because a custom wanted them to. They're willing to bend over backwards for their customers, allow their customers to call the shots (which sounds good until you realize they'll throw their employees under the bus in a heartbeat). Be warned.

    Advice to Management

Where to begin... listen to your own words and try to actually follow them. Don't contradict yourself all the time, don't say one thing and do another. Don't tell employees what they want to hear, tell them what they need to hear. Be truthful with your employees, tell them how it is, they're adults, they can handle it and it's better than side-swiping them out of the blue later on. Also, defend your employees, don't throw them under the bus when a customer gets mad, especially if that employee was following protocol. Consider the sheer amount of talent you've lost because of the way things have been done, how many GOOD employees have left or been fired or let go because of the mismanagement; how much more talent are you willing to find and then lose, how many employees do you need to cycle through before you realize they're your greatest asset and you need to treat them like family and take care of them?

    Cons

Learn how to manage a company without massive layoffs every five years. Don't put all eggs into one basket. Hire good people, and be more honest.
