Waste of my time & energy.
Jul 12, 2015 - Sales Associate in Aventura, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Being able to connect with the cute children and parents in the area.
Cons
Poor pay. No company structure. One person says one thing, and its really the other. No good deals to share with customers. Ridiculously overpriced, Non brand name clothing for CHILDREN. Tons of corprate errors; You have to constantly be on top of These people for pay-related issues or you wont see a dime. Store Computers constantly malfunctioning and IT claims to reslove issues but it Goes right back to malfunctioning minutes later. Corporate visits from the California team are dreadful due to how they treat the staff, how they want merchandising set ups, and being watched like a hawk during customer connections. Extremely uncomfortable to staff and customers for such a small store.

Perhaps the worst job I've ever had

Unless you have children, I see no pro to working there, other than if you're interested in the discount. The discount is 40% but can't be combined with any other rooms or sales.
Cons
If you're new to the store that has an established team, good luck trying to fit in with them. Mostly older women who staff the store, and boy do they not like new people. Poor company structure overall. The excuses were always the same- "We're a small company, so that's why we don't do this," etc. Annoying. This company needs to spend money expanding stockrooms and getting scanners for shipment (you have to check in all items by hand that you receive in shipment and replenishment-- ridiculous!) rather than blowing all of its money on store events (that don't even do well) and cupcakes. I've never seen something run so backwards. No clear sense of who actually runs this company. Upper management is dismal at best. If you have any prior retail experience or are just starting out, do yourself a favor and skip the headache of accepting a job from this company, even if you need it.

Pros
Great place to work if you love kids and retail experience. They are good at teaching and striving to help you learn the retail world. I was a newbie to retail and with the help from Peek Kids, I feel that I have a pretty strong grasp on sales.
Cons
The size of the store is very small. When the store is empty, which sadly happens a lot, there is nothing to do other than fold and refold what you have already folded. Its very hard to give a customer space to look around for themselves because there isn't enough room in the store to make it seem like you aren't looking over their shoulder.

Small privately owned company
Jan 29, 2016 - Store Manager in Miami, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great culture of women to work with! Love the clothing and clients, great bonus structure, and corporate officers always open to listening to what we have to say to help push business forward.
Cons
Typical small business problems: pay is not competitive, health benefits are expensive and paid maternity leave is non existent. Company is a California lifestyle brand and they execute that perfectly but still haven't pinned down how to take the brand nationwide and have styles created for the specific markets.

Great place to work! Awesome teams!feels just like family. But it's still a growing company
Cons
Need to update your systems! Sometimes things would go on sale and the team who is in charge of that sucked..it usually never rings out to the price! We always have to change it! The California stores always make goal(s) stinks that other stores don't hit their mark simply because a Victoria secret models or Reese Witherspoon don't shop at our locations.

Pros
Clothing is adorable, fun environment, if you love kids- great place to work, good employee discount
Cons
No room for growth as advertised in job ad, and handbook. No raises. Unattainable sales goals, bonuses aren't given unless high sales goal met, upper management is not aware of how store managers are operating stores and complaints go through chain of commands. Schedules change often, no raises, only management gets OT

Pros
Peek had an excellent environment with cute kids clothing that was easy to sell. I was able to openly communicate with my manager about any concerns as well as any accomplishments.
Cons
Many days we had very slow customer traffic. This location has since closed but I do recommend looking into working with Peek if you are looking for a fun place to work that sells high quality items.
