    I worked at Peet's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They value individualism, great benefits, good teamwork, free drinks and pastries.

    Cons

we had an awful manager that sunk our store into the ground. When he was replaced it become a great place to work for, early mornings late nights, sometimes work til 10 pm but need to be there at 4:45 am, had accommodating managers, high stress and fast pace mornings, pay could be better.

    Advice to Management

Pay the shift leads more as they do a tremendous amount of work.

    I worked at Peet's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great discount, good health care plans.

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations directed at all levels, dishonesty within internal memos and between senior/retail management, poor planning, and a complete disregard to labor laws.

    Advice to Management

Stop firing everyone who built the company into a billion dollar brand to hire people who want to turn it into something no one wants to work for or buy from.

    Pros

Great product In coffee beans. Hard to get better quality.

    Cons

Poor support and infrastructure from the top. Great intentions with slow execution. High turn over rate with Managers and District Management and above. Ironicaly trying to sell a story of a family owned business that sold out over two years ago. Home office is too slow to take action. Currently paying new hires under min wage ($12/hr) in Los Angeles.

    Advice to Management

The coffee bean is one of the highest profit items in the food industry. Shame on you for not taking care of your personal.

    I worked at Peet's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Usually awesome co-workers - everyone is there working part time basically so the manager is flexible with schedules.

    Cons

As with any job involving customer service, sometimes the customers aren't the best.

I have been working at Peet's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Peet's hiring process is very straight forward and so are their benefits. In the last few years I've worked there, they've added more employee benefits. After working for small coffee shops, it's nice to not have to worry about getting paid fair wages for overtime or break violations-- everything is very by the book at Peet's. They also have yearly reviews for raise opportunities. Managers are typically flexible with scheduling and requesting time off.

    Cons

Peet's is a fast coffee company, so don't expect the quality of barista training you'd receive at a speciality coffee shop, or the consistency.

    Advice to Management

Initialize programs that teach consistency for better barista training, and have higher qualifications for employees that get "bar time".
