I worked at Pegasystems (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of code run diverse problems, just on the edge of keeping it all together.

    Cons

Code does not have to work for just one company, it has to work for many.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be more interaction between coders and marketers.

I have been working at Pegasystems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

One of the best parts of working at Pega is the people. Don't wait for someone else to hold your hands, because Pega expects you to be a go getter. Excellent career development programs. A company for highly creative problem solvers who thrive in a fluid environment. Not kidding. If you don't give up, you can make stuff happen.

    Cons

Need to put more decisions in other executives hands other than the FLT as the team is very homogeneous. There needs to be fresh ideas and better execution.

    Advice to Management

Add some diversity to the board and executive teams to get a fresh young perspective. Hire leaders you can trust and then get out of their way.

So much to do, so little time to do it in. Focus on the wildly important - but everything is wildly important.

    Pros

The pay is decent. The hours are OK

    Cons

The company has little regard for its employees in the Professional Services department. They are treated as interchangable machine parts with little regard to matching geographic location with project location. You may live 10 miles from a site with 3 people flying in from Canada each week.

    Advice to Management

Produce a product which does what you promise it is going to do
