I worked at Pei Wei Asian Diner part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Free food (everything was made fresh and was decent quality Chinese takeout),
-flexible hours ( you can easily negotiate with coworkers to trade shifts)
-coworkers and some managers were cool
    - managers were easy to talk to and work with
    -simple, but demanding job
-workplace comradery was strong and coworkers were fun to work with

    Cons

-Very fast paced work, you really have to work at breakneck speed during rush hours to keep things flowing
-understaffed when i first started working, which can get annoying during peak hours, esp if you get stuck with a slacking or lazy coworker, but they eventually put more people in shifts... when I quit, just my luck...
    - management was really random because they were always switching managers, which could affect your hours and you had to renegotiate every time
    - come home smelling like chop suey

    Advice to Management

    Don't be understaffed

I worked at Pei Wei Asian Diner part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    day time hours were good

    Cons

rude management. good hours at first. after cutting 45 lbs steak,45 lbs of chicken chunks and 90 lbs of chicken, all i marinated and then was told to cut another 120 lbs of chicken. it took me 11hours and 48 min from start to finish. I told management the time frame involved, he did not care!!! I was taken off the schedule the next day , no explanation to me, saying he will call me back later. That never happen. That is the thanks i got. I guest they didn't want to cut meats for the next 2 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I even worked days off sometimes to get hours that were cut on the original schedule.

    Advice to Management

Rude, Thinking they are GODS and talking to employees any kind of way is not a good think. Thats way the turn rate is soooooooo! high!!!!!!

I worked at Pei Wei Asian Diner full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's fun to work if you like the kitchen. You have funny people working so it makes it fun and not boring.

    Cons

The more you know the more you do. They hardly give raises, because it is very slow sometimes. This position is good for people looking for part time only and need extra cash.

    Advice to Management

I think the should market more using SEO, SEM, and all social media platforms.

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

It was a very fun environment and I enjoyed the people I worked with as well as the management team. They give you most of your uniform such as a shirt and a apron. It is relatively easy work that isn't complicated to learn or preform.

    Cons

Some of the people they hired were a embarrassment to work with. There were fights between some of the employees sometimes. I was praised as an employee when all I did was the minimum job responsibilities.
