I have been working at Penn Commercial part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Administration/Staff is very friendly and personable. The student body is also friendly and eager to learn. You have benefits available to buy into.

    Cons

They see no value in their faculty. The pay is way lower then the industry standards. There is no compensation for any extra hours..there are no raises ever...its administrator heavy...there is not an appropriate reinvestment into the facility (training equipment ) or their staff.

    Advice to Management

Spend some money on your talent ...your people. Stop relying on part time hours to save you a buck, so your staff doesn't have to earn an honest living elsewhere and moonlight as instructors.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Penn Commercial (More than a year)

    Pros

to be able to stay up on the latest soft wares, that and to be able to place new students into the workforce.

    Cons

only part time so had to look into other means of income , the factor of staying current on the latest
soft wares helps to sway this though.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Penn Commercial full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

i lived close by, so it was an easy commute.

    Cons

everything, from no raises to being left in the dark as to what is really going on at this school.

    Advice to Management

treat your employees with some respect, you shouldn't expect your employees to stay if there is never an incentive too.

  5. "The management is supportive of personal life, but not willing to compensate for hard work."

    Pros

The management is easy to work with when needing time off, and the full-time vacation goes up to four weeks. That is about it. You do have some academic freedom.

    Cons

There are virtually no raises, and the pay is low by all industry standards.
The rules constantly change, and no one knows from week to week what is coming.

    Advice to Management

If the company were more willing to financially compensate employees the job would be better. I would recommend at least a cost of living increase. They are not willing to help with continuing education for faculty. The main concern at Penn Commercial is the bottom line-not the students, staff, or faculty.

They are not truthful about salary or benefits. The employees are overly competitive.
