I worked at Penn State Berks part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked with Brenda L. Russell, PhD as her research assistant for one semester, until the funding ran out. She is a top-rate researcher and highly professional. I worked telecommute (an undeniable benefit) and part-time, and Penn Sate-Berks had no qualms with this arrangement. It was one of the best experiences of my life working at PSU with Brenda. (Thereafter, I went on to work with her in copy editing a couple scholarly articles and a textbook.) Brenda possessed patience, tenacity, and opportunities to learn new skills. Being a research assistant fresh off from graduating is a great opportunity, especially if you're eager to develop research skills for grad school (SPSS, for one), or as an important skill set for a job after undergrad.

    Cons

I have to put a con, so... The pay was within the funding budget, so it was meager; but I didn't care about that, because I was learning so much.

    Advice to Management

None. My experience was fabulous, and to this day (4 years later) Brenda Russell is fantastic to collaborate with on research projects and as a professional mentor and friend.

    Pros

Self manage, its a new company so the higher ups let you do more with projects. making events is a lot of fun and getting people to join in is a lot of fun. Boss are super nice and try to be as helpful as they can.

    Cons

Self manage, you truly are alone, and it is really all up to you. Getting people to take 5 minutes out of there day to sign up for a free website is harder than it sound, than again when you do get people to it feels great.

None everything seems to be going well
