    Pros

Great internship for college age students. Lots of opportunities to build relationships and learn/teach financial products.

    Cons

Interns won't gain a lot of experience with "banking" since transactions are not dealt with at the e-centers.

    Advice to Management

    Avoid showing favoritism.

    Pros

Very Friendly. Enjoyed all the good times and the fun parties that were had for employees to show appreciation. Open floor plan for cubicles.

None that I experienced while working there. Great place to work. Sad to leave such a great workplace and co-workers.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

The benefits and pay are unmatched in the area. The relationships with fellow employees at my same level were amicable, and immediate management was knowledgeable and effective.

    Cons

This is a call center. Be ready to bury your personal feelings deep in your psyche and be patient and jovial with the most belligerent callers. Get ready to be micromanaged and for your opinions to be undervalued and brushed aside. The team atmosphere within the State College facility is fine, but there are often communication breakdowns between State College and Harrisburg. The 1-9pm hours most have at this office are abysmal, especially if you have a family--and there are ZERO child care facilities in the area that offer care after 6pm, so if you don't have reliable care at home or with family, get ready to trust a college student to watch your kids. There aren't many chances to get a day shift schedule unless you are willing to relocate to their main facility in Harrisburg, PA, and often when these positions open, they are filled at the Harrisburg location.

    Advice to Management

Allow more chances for day light hours. Contract with day care providers in the area to help your employees who have families.

I have been working at Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great co-workers, pay, and benefits.

    Cons

Under staffed a lot. Can't add spouse to insurance if spouse is offered insurance by their employer. State College location definitely does not have the perks Harrisburg has with an onsite gym, fitness classes, cafe, and daycare. Most shifts in State College are second shift- 12-8pm or 1-9pm.
Things are often introduced and go live with little to no training. Things are often pushed out to go live with little consideration as to what the outcome maybe and what effect it will have on membership and the employees.

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging! Hire more people. Let people add their spouses. Test more before it is pushed out live.

    Improve two-way communication
