I have been working at Penske Truck Leasing full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great starting company with programs straight out of college, and the ability to move up rather quickly if you are talented and willing to relocate. Pay is pretty average, with a decent sized performance based bonus at the end of every fiscal year.

    Cons

Very unorganized at times, hard to get your hands on equipment during some seasons of the year when equipment is tight or already on rent. Lots of political games and hoops to jump through to work your way up.

    Advice to Management

Provide better support for your counters and locations. Don't get so caught up in what corporate demands vs what is actually achievable.

I have been working at Penske Truck Leasing full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A great place to work. As a mechanic you are treated more than fairly. the benefits here are unbeatable. Steady hourly pay.

    Cons

Good job if you just want to be a mechanic. Not much career opportunity. 40 hours a week. it is very rare to get overtime.

    Advice to Management

Make the technician training program more available to all. everyone needs to be pulling their own share of the work.

I worked at Penske Truck Leasing full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

At the location I worked it really seemed like the team was invested in my success and cared about its employees to the fullest. They were always extremely accommodating.

    Cons

10-hour work days aren't a rarity. But it's a job that you don't often have to take home with you so you get a great work/life balance.

I have been working at Penske Truck Leasing full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Assigned company car, some flexibility, brand recognition, Rolex if you make winners circle. Responsible for own schedule and territory, bi-weekly commission.

    Cons

Brick and mortar, support staff is woefully understaffed and talent level is average at best. Multiple, arcane software platforms, literally 8 different systems needed to pull info from. Sales rep's are required to perform numerous admin and clerical work that has the effect of draining precious time from sales activity.

    Advice to Management

Significant upgrades needed to SSO systems, drop AS400 immediately and replace it with something from this decade. Invest in staff, entry level pay is woeful-especially considering the multitude of tasks MT's are required to perform. Eliminate time wasting, ancient, on paper expense reporting.

I have been working at Penske Truck Leasing part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible schedule, paid weekly

    Cons

Pay could also be better. If you have a Class A CDL and have to pull tractor/trailers you get paid the same as someone with a Class B CDL that is unable to pull trailers and does not have the same amount of risk, that sucks.

    Advice to Management

CDL A holders have to assume far greater risk by pulling trailers and should receive more compensation than Class B CDL holders.
