    Pros

Great atmosphere, competitive pay, strong management that allows for creativity and individual work.

    Cons

Raises are not substantial. Alloted vacation time is limited compared to other companies. Bonus structure unobtainable but has been revamped.

    Advice to Management

Hoffman, the enclosure side of the company is losing their brand recognition. Pentair as a whole is trying too hard to make all brands recognizable under one umbrella. Customers want a Hoffman box, they don't know who Pentair is.

I worked at Pentair full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Advancement possible if willing to learn, work hard, and be very detail oriented.

    Cons

Many days where one finds out that day that they must work mandatory overtime.

    Advice to Management

Plan out at least two days in advance regarding overtime, and make it known to employees.

I have been working at Pentair full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I've been working as a temp for a few months now and the first thing I noticed is that they treats employees very well . They have many miscellaneous bonuses such as safety payouts , meals , gift certificates ect . They have an on site cafeteria and the food reasonably priced and average quality (not bad not great either ). they also for the most part encourage innovation and realize theirs more then one way to do something .

    Cons

The management is a little hit and miss but definitely tolerable however they are very unclear about their temp to hire processes Some managers have said it takes a couple months some say a year or two none have specified how they go about the process, evaluate performance or when they review at all. The hours can be rather long if you get behind( which could be good or bad depending on the person ) .

    Advice to Management

Be more clear about you temp to hire procedure to your employees ( both temp's and permanent employees ).

I worked at Pentair full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free Gatorade and water to drink, free parking and any shift to choose from.

    Cons

Most hiring was done by on site temporary service. They get a lot of people in a group, give them some tests, picked the best ones and then pay them $9.50 an hour. A Billion $ Company can do better. No wonder the work force is in their 20"s.

    Advice to Management

Replace the ones at the top and get ready for unionization..................................

I have been working at Pentair full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Clear defined processes, great history

    Cons

Poor morale, too many changes for the sake of changes, focused on chasing metrics even if they are the wrong ones

I worked at Pentair as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pentair has a number of processes that provide a good learning experience for any new engineer to the game. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a good job in manufacturing. All the people, from the factory operators all the way up to management, are nice approachable people, who are willing to help you and production in any way they can.

    Cons

The downside to working in a plant that is definitely process advanced is that you will work at other places and realize how good you had it at Pentair. On the other side, it provides a good reference from systems and processes to implement anywhere you work forthcoming.

    Advice to Management

Continue to involve all personnel in improvement projects.

I have been working at Pentair as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of different projects, experienced management, great intern program making sure you are comfortable and asking about your experience. Not to mention free lunches quite often and got paid to go to a Twins game

    Cons

Beginning was a little slow, not many projects when first starting, some assemblers on the floor don't treat the young interns with much respect

    Pros

Good brand (at least in the past)
Great for people in the 20's

    Cons

New leadership is damaging the customer loyalty
Very poor integration with acquired brands
What the leader says is different what comes out as a decision
Performance review is based on if you are buddy with your boss
Pentair is losing the edge and brand of the acquired companies

    Advice to Management

    Care about your employees
