I worked at Pentair full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Company has been around for awhile, I enjoy my coworkers

    Cons

What I was told I would be doing for the job vs discription is not lineing up. They also do not believe in work life balance and require Salary employees to work 45+ hours each week but refuse to allow hourly people who work the same type of job have over time. They do not care about their employees, HR will not support you when you have an issue and Managers will lie to your face on multiple issues.

    Advice to Management

You are going to loose hard working office employees if you do not stop drilling in lean process in an office environment when the technology is not up to speed. You cannot support LEAN mentality if you do not have the right technology. Your employees should not be viewed as free labor just because they are Salary and lying to employees is never acceptable. You must change the culture have more of a work life balance and have flexibility with your employees.

I have been working at Pentair full-time

    Pros

If you need to get away with anything, you can. If you need insurance it is fairly good through the company.

    Cons

If you value hard work ethic and a strong community this is not the place. Management is not strong, leaders do nothing besides give non-answers and avoid problems. Kind words are said but action rarely follows.

    Advice to Management

Cut and dry; do your job. If people need to be reprimanded do it. If people need to be fired do it. If people want to earn more responsibilities and add to the company listen to them. Folks who do their job and do it well are going to see people screwing around and see that their value will be recognized far better somewhere else.

    "Customer Service Admin."

I worked at Pentair full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Decent salary and company benefits.

    Cons

Bait and switch! They advertised a position for an admin., but really it is a customer service rep. position, with a bit of filing and spreadsheet updating.
Very little technical training/support. The department consists of 3 reps that do not foster teamwork. Very negative department overall. Not a professional environment whatsoever.

    Advice to Management

Advertise what the position really is, and you might get the right fit.
Provide proper product training before throwing an employee on the phones to speak to the products.

I have been working at Pentair full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I really can't think of any pros to working for Pentair, except that the pay was good. I've never felt so defeated working for a company in my life.

    Cons

This company does not care about its employees. You will never have a voice, but rather you are just expected to follow procedures, even if they are not in the best interest of the company. The bosses are all too scared to stand up for the employees. The company can't make up its mind and it changing monthly. They do monthly 5s audits of your office and you are only allowed 5 personal items, plus have to have EVERYTHING labelled and alphabetized. Its just strange. There is not standard rules- so what you are allowed to do changes depending on your boss' opinion of you. The HR department is basically invisible and the IT department wont respond to anything. The expectation is that you will be connected 24/7, even on paid time off or company shut down.
