    Pros

    Good company allows you to grow market share with lots of help and people to go to. Good team, great work environment.

    Cons

    Lots of divisions that cross over still operating as independent companies. bring everyone under one umbrella and get them to work together.

    Strong brands; global footprint; good people at the mid-manager level and below.

    Cons

    Highly dysfunctional leadership team at the platform/corporate level; functional groups seem to be running the business (HR, marketing); recent "cost out" activities may have long-lasting negative effects on the business.

    Advice to Management

    Better communication; more focus on people as opposed to process; look at long-term strategic vision and not just day-to-day profits.

    Cons

    Acquisitions are made with a holding mentality. There is no common MRP system, some GBU´s (Global Business Units) overlaps each other and way too much politics

    Stop spending money on employee training in winning right and take yourselves a deep class in it

    Pros

    Job pays the bills
    Pentair Electrical is so dysfunctional one can get by without having to work hard

    Cons

    The CEO's slogan on his fancy PowerPoint presentations read: "the next best industrial company" when truth be told this is probably the worst company in the industrial space.
    In their endless attempt to "cut costs" the best employees have been laid off all of whom now work for the competition. B and C players run the different business units within the Electrical segment.
    Top performers get downsized because their salaries are "too high" when compared to the salaries of directors and VPs who by the way add no value to the organization

    Advice to Management

    Sell the Company and find something better to do!

    great team, pleasant people to work with

    acquisitions are always financially driven which is draining as you end up overworked nd underresourced leaving customers frustrated. no training or incentives to make you work harder or keep you motivated

    get out of the financial spreadsheets and come to the real world

    Chaotic management trying to Americanise a company reliant on old technical people resisting change.

    Advice to Management

    Build a replacement before destroying the old team. Don't imagine the whole world is the USA.
