I have been working at People’s Trust full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The benefits are great...They offer a very good 401K plan. Paid holidays, Weekends off, Great environment with friends co-workers and the pay is fair. The owner, George Schaffer takes really good care of his PTI family.

    Cons

I don't have much cons. Only thing is the location of the building is a little distant from any restaurants or places to pick up some food. I guess it's a pro because it forces you to bring your own food in which you'll ultimately save some cash but still, sometimes you just want some options.

I have been working at People’s Trust full-time

    Pros

CEO's suggestion box is read every time
    Free Yogurt
    Free Soda

    Cons

    Lack of proper training
    Nepotism
    High Pressure environment
    High Turnover rate
    Instability

    Advice to Management

The CEO is at least making an effort to read the suggestion box but apparently the company isn't managed properly below him. The underwriting department had massive layoffs and in turn followed by other departments. The IT department seems to be in disarray. Everything is being done Ad-hoc without proper guidance. As history dictates with this company, people have either quit or have been fired. This includes everyone from top level executives down to the regular employees. Whomever wants to work for this company needs to do due diligence of the turnover rate and that itself is a reflection of the company.

    Pros

    Great benefits and good pay

    Cons

There is too much office gossip

    Advice to Management

Need to also work the front lines to understand and get experience.... most of management have no prior experience in the Insurance field and do not support the front line employees or understand the stress

I worked at People’s Trust full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits are ok, PTO is great. Free lunch/breakfast often. Company has soda fountains and frozen yogurt.

    Cons

    Upward mobility limited.
    Nepotism rampant with the company.
Ethics policy not equally enforced within the company.

    Advice to Management

Say no to "yes men" there is no buy in from departments or sanity checks within departments. There are persons making decisions with little to no knowledge of the business.

    Pros

This company under its previous owner used to be fair to its employee's. Since George Schaffer has taken over the company has taken a terrible turn. George is a out of touch billionaire who is running this company as a hobby. He uses the income that he has has cut from his employees to remodel the office building. The sales departments commission alone was cut by almost 50%. His reasoning is that "I will run my business the way I want". George has fired almost all of the people who built this company over the last 8 years. Anyone who has opposed him has been fired. You are micro managed by people who are afraid of being fired so they put blame on the employees below them. It's like rats scrambling on a sinking ship. To top it off, this year there will be no Holiday bonuses for the first time in the companies history. All of this from a billionaire. Stay away from this sinking ship.

    Cons

Everything mentioned above. No advancement. STAY AWAY

    Advice to Management

Find a new owner or find a new job.

    Pros

They are flexible with time off, even though you do not get any sick time and only receive 2 weeks of personal days.

    Cons

The owner talks down to people. They are very unprofessional and manage with fear. There are no reward or recognition for doing a good job. Only friends get promoted, even without applying or posting so that everyone can get a fear chance.

    Advice to Management

    Be professional

    I worked at People’s Trust full-time

    Pros

Diverse work force; decent building; colorful and large building which is usually kept clean and well-maintained in most areas ( sans the cigarettte butts scattered around the parking lot).

    Cons

For one thing, they should stop planting fake and/or misleading reviews. It seems like every time there's a negative review, a glowing new one pops up, perhaps from their P/R staff. They tend to put out some less than accurate stuff.

Issues with management who are on ego trips, and/or lack of proper oversight

    Advice to Management

Keep it real. Really be a good, legit company, then you won't have to keep trying to convince people that you are
