Develop tests to verify the experience and skill level of employees. Educate office personnel on the requirements of the various jobs.

    I worked at PeopleReady part-time

    Pros

People Ready has jobs that pay just above minimum wage with several short term temp assignments, so if you want work and you can live off of the bare minimum - this is the place to go.

    Cons

The assignments will rarely if ever become permanent and they hire a lot of drug addicts. With the driving jobs for auto auctions, they are good for getting numbers of people. That being said, I witnessed a few people on the job where I'm certain they were smoking crack and/or doing meth. Not cool!

    Advice to Management

Don't hire addicts! If I can look and see that these people are sick, surely you could too.

I worked at PeopleReady full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Temps: Pays daily for temps, they'll send you to work ASAP
Staff: decent PTO (you'll need it, you'll hate your job)

    Cons

Temps: You can't get OT unless you happen to be on the same assignment all week, pay ranges from min wage to about $9/hour. Tough, hard labor jobs. HIGHLY unlikely you'll actually get hired on somewhere.
Staff: Schedule was all over the place, management would constantly add on job duties to your already-full plate, when they give you a raise it is just enough to make you angry (2 or 3 %), and there was never enough you could do to please management. ALL. THEY. CARE. ABOUT. IS. SALES. Unless you live in Tacoma, WA or are with the company for 10+ years it is highly unlikely to move up. Shameful place to work for the staff. …

    Advice to Management

Stop rewarding complacence. You're letting talent walk right out that revolving door.

I worked at PeopleReady full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great feeling when you can help someone get back on their feet with a job!

    Cons

Long hours in the seasonal months, you are on call for holidays, weekends, nights, etc. so expect to have 60 - 70 hour weeks for about 4 - 6 months out of the year, female boss had it in for me and wouldn't help me or return calls or include me in any group calls and she never visited my branch even though she drove right by it and spent countless hours at other branches, some branches are so close that you are 'poaching' in each others territories without knowing it.

    Advice to Management

Make sure the regional managers are actually doing their job, visit the branches yourselves and ask how things are going.
