I have been working at Pep Boys full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Commission on top of your base pay which is pretty nice incentive to try harder because there's no cap on it

    Cons

I don't have any cons yet but it would be nice getting a better base pay because I've seen it get real busy

    Advice to Management

Keep on training us until you forsure are ready to do it by ourselves because I'm going in blind with no sales experience

I worked at Pep Boys (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place to work, to get customer service experience, you grow to have a second family with pep boys associates!

    Cons

Late retail hours, you have to work week ends, some clients can be super rude to you and you just have to take it! Sometimes management backs you up, low pay. I think I did to much for the company to get payed so low. Over worked with low pay.

    Advice to Management

Give great raises, more money for the extra work load.

I worked at Pep Boys full-time

    Pros

If you work hard, are knowledgeable of the products, and have good customer service skills then you will be able to move to management fairly quick (meaning a few years or so). My management was all about teaching the employees more about the business, and for me that was motivation to learn more and improve myself as well as the business. I learned marketing, displays, sales, more about parts, and also the commercial side of things all in just the sales representative position.

    Cons

It is a low pay hourly job as a sales representative at first, but can turn into a great paying career if you work your way up as in any position. Also, every now and then you may have to wash those windows! That sucks! Other than that it is truly a great culture to work within.

    Advice to Management

Keep educating your employees on how to improve, most great employees enjoy the opportunity to learn and succeed.
