    Cons

Weekly schedule given at the last minute

    Advice to Management

Make a two week schedule so the students are not chained to their jobs

I worked at Pepperdine University full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The people who work there really believe in the mission, care about the students, and support each other. The nicest people I've ever met work at Pepperdine and it has a small town family feeling. The benefits are fantastic and the campus is gorgeous. You can go to fitness classes or to the beach on your lunch break! The work itself is rewarding as well.

    Cons

You have to jump through a lot of hoops to get anything done. Lots of bureaucracy. Micromanagement is common, at least in my experience. It is also a small university, so you often need to promote to other departments to move up, which can be difficult.

    Advice to Management

The University as a whole is very uncomfortable with risk, and that makes progress slow. There is so much focus on perfection that many of the top leaders I've worked with micromanage more than is necessary.
