I have been working at Pepperfry full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company provides and open & free environment to work in leading to experimental ideas & freedom of thought.

    Cons

Processes are not very well-defined but that comes with every new company , so accepting and working around it helps.

    Pros

None just stay away and protect your career. Don't be swayed by the office interior just pack your stuff and run.

    Cons

If you are a techie, no one cares what you are doing as it is a lala company.
They will fire you once their product is ready so u will never get what they offer in package.
They lie about every thing so stay away.

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at Pepperfry full-time

    Pros

Work is good and team mates are really helpful

    Cons

Senior management is not good. To justify this I would like to add that all the technical managers I a mean ALL have left the company within a month.

    Neutral Outlook

    Pros

    1) Good looking website
    2) Large catalog of products on website
    3) Early players in furniture e-commerce, so they are leading in this business, compared to flipkart, amazon, urban Ladder, etc. in Furniture and home decor segment
    4) Have set up warehouses and invested in supply chain to handle large item goods well.
    5) Good Customer base, though the traffic has reduced a lot over 1 year now.

    Cons

    1) Not a technology driven company.
    2) Confused in hiring, they hire more, then either force or ask their employees to leave the company.
    3) Not clear on goals with respect to technology teams or in case, with most of the teams. Example,if you made a product 3 months back, today they will say it is not of use and shelve and start of with new thing which again might get shelved in 2 months.
    4) Lack of planning, due to which a lot of rework and very little impact of that work.
    5) Top heads are not technically sound and inclined towards cutting edge ways of solving things.

    Advice to Management

Need to plan things ahead and need good coordination so that amount of rework is reduced and handwork of employees , pays off well in the growth of the Company.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Pepperfry full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Salary, good tech and non tech people I have worked with. A good bunch of teams that really worked hard

    Cons

What to say, so many, No HR, bad senior management, no employee friendliness, no growth, not a start-up as presented more like a factory

    Advice to Management

Value your employees who worked hard and if you believe that employee who only talks and do nothing are good and you are really losing it. At least have an HR with proper degree and knowledge not someone who doesn't' t even know the meaning of HR.

Get rid of non tech people on tech positions. Believe me you will thank me later.

I worked at Pepperfry full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some good folks up to manager level. They are enthusiastic and want to do good - product and tech. It is a good camaraderie till mid level folks.

    Cons

    1. It is extremely sad when people are promised on Monday that nothing will happen and then they are all fired on Wednesday. Very very unethical organization

    2. Non tech bosses of technical team make it very difficult for developers to communicate. What makes matters worse is the heads are very rude, brash and foul mouthed idiots

    3. No corporate culture. U can't insult using expletives in an official meeting! This is absolutely not done

    4. No HR policy. Just a HR management tool! No consideration for employees. I mean, at least don't belittle if you can't appreciate

Also, let me warn you that all recent reviews with good ratings are fake. If you have an interview / offer, please do not join. Take this from a well wisher.

I have been working at Pepperfry full-time

    Pros

    lot of scope to learn
    good team members
the above pros are being written forcefully by me since HR told me to do so

    Cons

I have edited this part after HR left
Worst company who treats their employees like slaves.
They don't value your work and expect you to deliver and when you do, you wont be appreciated.
Tech team reports to less technical managers

    Advice to Management

Reading technical stuffs everyday wont make you a tech guru.
Stop treating your employees as slaves
to CEO: you are not approachable and have a lot of pride
