I worked at PepsiCo part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

My ex-dsl (Frito Lay) always appreciated my hard work. Worked about 4 hours for 3 days a week. Also excelled as an on-call employee sent to assist RSR in merchandising (or stocking) a store. Typical tasks: walk into the store, see what product is where and fill what needs to be filled with product, while rotating the dates forward. After any and all product is put up and rotated, face up the product, pop and lace to left salute. The most enjoyable part of the job was that I was able to be helpful to others.

    Cons

    Backstock challenges
It can be hard to accumulate enough hours to pay the bills under new dsl.
Running accounts across 3 counties killed one car and was working on the destruction of the second. Lack of communication doesn't exactly establish a vote of confidence as the silence is deafening and can be misconstrued ... Working all hours inhibits the ability to establish a healthy sleep patterns and an 8 hour rest cycle to ensure company safety standards. There are only 5 merchandisers in our area; there will always only be 5 merchandisers in our area.

    Advice to Management

It isn't the opportunity that makes the person, it is the person that makes the opportunity.

I have been working at PepsiCo part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Competitive Wage, Management is friendly, Plenty of Training, Company Phone, Uniform, Over-time

    Cons

Merchandising is hard, sometimes back-breaking work and dealing with store managers can be tough. Depending on how many stores I have in a single day/route, the day could be smooth or hectic. Positions and career opportunities in the company are seemingly slow to open up.

    Advice to Management

    No advice.

seniority gets best shifts so you will most likely be on 2nd or 3rd for 15+ years before getting on first.
also seniority gets the best work week so you will work tues-sat, sun-thurs, or fri-tues. mon-fri goes to high senior.
