I worked at PepsiCo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company employs some great people. Easy to get overtime pay, has great health insurance and 401k benefits. Also a great way to stay in shape.

    Cons

It is hard to balance work life with personal life, especially when you are working 60 to 70 hours every week. If you are a workaholic and don't mind having a very tired, seldom available for very long self outside of work...this job definitely rewards its employees.

    Advice to Management

It would be a lot less stressful of a position, along with less overtime paid out by the company, if larger stores were merchandised by 2 people on heavy load days.

    I worked at PepsiCo full-time

    Pros

The people at the company are great. Interacting with management and team members was typically very enjoyable and made work fun. The pay was also great.

    Cons

More interaction from management on what is happening with the actual plant, not just about intern projects.

I have been working at PepsiCo full-time

    Pros

flexible schedule, good pay, independence, great management

    Cons

lots of driving, sometimes very early start times (ie, 3 or 4am), not much direction in the beginning

    Advice to Management

I would give a better job description during the application process. Let the potential interns know that this is not a 9-5 office job, and you will definitely need your own car for lots of driving.

I have been working at PepsiCo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

PepsiCo has a solid track record, diverse portfolio and continues to deliver when market trends are adverse.

    Cons

Middle management leadership is very poor due to inexperience, lack of knowledge and poor work ethic.

    Advice to Management

You continue to promote through campus recruit program, however lack of solid work ethic, accountability and functional knowledge, is hindering the company from moving forward because managers are not qualified, or around long enough in their position to acquire the skills to deliver solid results. As a company "paying lip service to promoting from within," only creates apathy to the ones who are shouldering the real workload. Stop promising recruits promotions before they acquire the proper knowledge to do a good job. There is still plenty of opportunity in the industry, but middle managers do not have the experience to capture it.
