I worked at PepsiCo part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, decent perks. Nice coworkers

    Cons

Always shorthanded. Managers will work you to the ground if you let them. Lying about your availability is a must if you want to have enough time for school/work life balance. Large turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

Your employees are not equipment. They have obligations outside of work and school, so there is no way a part-time employee should be working 36+ hours for months on end because the manager can't stop being short staffed all the time. Also make sure there are enough merchandisers hired, you can't always keep calling your employees asking if they can work more and then get mad when they decline.

I worked at PepsiCo full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Being able to have a large company on your resume.

    Cons

This program is horrible. The turnover rate is very high and for a good reason. They lie to you in the interview about what the job actually entails. All the work you do is frontline work, and the career progression is unfulfilling and not challenging. Also, Pepsi expects 60-70 hours of work per week. During the time I was there I trained with the majority of all the positions there, and for the most part everyone was miserable.

    Advice to Management

Be honest during the interview cycle and you will have a better chance finding the right candidate.

This company creates and supports an aggressive combative work environment.

    Advice to Management

This facility will be gone in 3 yrs if you don’t wake up.

    Pros

    Decent insurance
Room to advance if you know someone
Front line employees are great to be around
Will pay for schooling, but you must stay there a year after schooling is done.

    Cons

Promotions are hand picked. They already know before the job is posted. No loyalty. I had to forget everything I learned in business school.

    Advice to Management

You can not give advice to a management that “knows it all”
