    Pros

the Big Bloated Blundering Byzantine Bureaucracy makes it easy to get lost and hide

    Cons

If you are a young talented individual with ambition this Big Bloated Blundering Byzantine Bureaucracy powered by power point is no place for you. It will suffocate any career ambitions you have in so many frustrating ways. The worst is the stagnant old boy 1980s management culture and all the negatives that go with it, favoritism, nepotism, double standards, politics etc. etc It’s a management-centric environment, it’s all about them and their buddies. Then add in their egos, power trips, lack of empathy, smugness, arrogance and it becomes a really toxic, hyper-political and hostile environment. They drive turn-over, ruin morale, demotivate AND are never held accountable. They could never even begin to think or understand that they are a problem.

Just realizing that not everyone sees the world the same way they do, thinks the same way they do etc would be a huge earth shattering revelation for a lot of them. To many of these dinosaurs have huge blinders on, this fixed, check the box, template that never changes approach to everything, and if you don’t conform to it, your’re the problem. They don’t need to change, you do. They do not encourage or want diversity of thought or action.

Most are only interested in maintaining the status quo and taking care of themselves, their golf buddies, checking the box, collecting a paycheck, getting their bonus and counting the days to 55 . Meanwhile, in 2017 the turnover of employees is rapidly accelerating and Frito had another bad quarter of stagnant growth, BUT, in their view it has nothing to do with them, so no change is needed on their part. They’ll just explain away the turnover with pat explanations and raise prices and/or pump more air into the bags, again ,to make the numbers, problem solved . Its business as usual. It’s definitely not a culture geared to attract or retain millennials or even retain tenured employees anymore. Millennials aren’t stupid, they have no intention of remaining with an organization like this long-term. Frito is just short -term resume filler for them. Frito is afflicted with a serious management disease which is beginning to impact the business in highly visible negative ways. The cracks are really beginning to show. No surprise Kraft Heinz is interested and sees so much opportunity. Frito will end up being “a what went wrong” case study for college students.

    Advice to Management

Invite Nelson Peltz back or sell out to Kraft Heinz asap, they will know how to fix this Big Bloated Blundering Byzantine Bureaucracy.

    Pros

Great place to work. The pay and benefits are good, and the company genuinely cares about its employees. Advancement is open to those who are ambitious and willing to work for it.

    Cons

The downside of working at PepsiCo is that often the hours are long during the holidays and summer. This can put a strain on your family life if you allow it. It's up to you to make sure that you balance your work life with your family life during these times.

    Advice to Management

Keep valuing the employee, but make sure not to allow ungrateful employees to take advantage of the company. Doing so hurts other employees, who appreciate the company and are willing to offer more.
