I have been working at Peregrine Semiconductor full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Relaxed and welcoming. No dress code; employees focus on work results over image.

    Cons

Most desks are within a "cubical farm." Not too much privacy. Need headphones to block out surrounding chatter.

I have been working at Peregrine Semiconductor full-time

    Pros

Hardworking employees in all departments. Fun culture when it's not hindered by micromanagement and too many consecutive long work days.

    Cons

Very long work hours in regular basis. No work/life balance for many of employees. High-stress environment. Not enough time to do a good job, resolve issues, and fix processes. Very high expectations when the processes are broken. Not enough focus on real issues. No real support from upper management. Seems too political for a small company. No training or development plan for employees so R&R are confusing. Low retention rate.

I worked at Peregrine Semiconductor full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work culture, flexibility, access to new technology, very talented people, flexible hours, interesting project challenges, good team synergy, diverse work environment.

    Cons

Lack of mature processes, politics, often times lack of proper channels to communicate the big picture for the group's direction. Benefits are average.

    Advice to Management

To better prioritize active product releases vs amount of new products added to the pipeline.

I have been working at Peregrine Semiconductor full-time

    Pros

Great place to work. Love it hear.
Excellent Wellness program, HR team is supportive and up to date with best practices.
Surrounded by technical geniuses, seriously! Have been in this business all of my life and the design teams here do amazing work.
Compensation is competitive, bonus structure is more than fair and as with all programs has it's ups and downs due to the nature of semiconductors.
Nicely positioned in it's core competencies for future growth.

    Cons

The Cons can be described as common to this industry and the niche Peregrine fills within the industry. Fabless Semi wins big and loses big so there will be lean times in this industry. There are the usual problems associated with a company growing and maturing from a start up to a major supplier of components and devices built into cutting edge hardware. To be clear Peregrine could be referred to as Fab-Lite as there are excellent back end manufacturing capabilities in San Diego.

    Advice to Management

Stick with your vision. Senior management has been a pleasure to work with and does have team members' best interests in mind.
