I have been working at Perform Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good people who have talent and good culture

    Cons

Company operates lean and spreads resources way too thin.

    Advice to Management

When you have different business units run by people with different agendas the smaller revenue businesses suffer. If you're going to take on new ventures then do them right so they have a chance to succeed. Processes and dedicated resources are severely lacking.

    Pros

Large ambitious company with many new ventures.

    Cons

Slow to move and large corporate nature works against it

    Pros

Great opportunities to start a career. Friendly colleagues.

    Cons

Not paid enough in comparison to similar jobs. High turnover of staff because of this.

    Advice to Management

Look after your staff, listen to their needs and bridge the gap between staff and freelance wages.

I worked at Perform Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Have been able to travel substantially, however the benefits of this are massively outweighed by the cons.

    Cons

Too many to list. If you work outside of Production this is an OK company to work for, however if you work within broadcast or digital, for a Media company they do not understand how to treat creative employees. They will change your contract, for you to work more hours with less money and allow you few weekends off a year.

Management will have very little idea of what someones' job 2 positions down will entail.

DO NOT ACCEPT A ROLE AT THIS COMPANY.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to manage Group Content, learn how to hire, learn how to treat employees correctly, learn how to run a company.

I worked at Perform Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent training and staff - able to gain experience on many new ventures! Loved my time at Perform and would recommend it to any new starter.

    Cons

Low wages for most creative staff and not many ways to move up the ladder when wanting to move to a different position.

    Advice to Management

Try and keep key creative staff, a lot of people feel unappreciated and have left the company on to new ventures because of this!

I worked at Perform Group full-time

    Pros

Learn lots and very quickly due to being thrown into things you don't know.

    Cons

Awful management, the pay is incredibly low and there is no room for progression. I left to a 65% pay rise!

    Zero training from the company.

    Broken promises all along.

    Cannot compete with it's competitors.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your staff and take care of people.

    Cons

Horrendous pay, little organisation, many are miserable and not welcoming

    Advice to Management

I worked at Perform Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Pay is good.
Work is done 9am to 5.30pm with little need for work outside those hours.
    Little pressure

    Cons

Chaotic senior management change priorities too frequently.
Lack of expertise, and environment to foster expertise, because of the nature of the work, and the senior management.
    Very top-down misogynistic environment.

    Advice to Management

Spend some serious time and thought on what is the business strategy and then look at how all areas of the business can work towards that. Currently far too many chiefs, on ridiculous salaries, and not enough genuine leaders.
