I have been working at Performance Designed Products full-time

    Pros

PDP makes some amazing products. The product teams really care about what they do. Great licenses with Xbox and video game titles. Some really good people, especially in Europe and in technical and product areas.

    Cons

Lack of company direction clear communication from CEO. Consistently making the same mistakes as everything is always urgent and a last minute panic. Many company decisions do not make sense.

    Advice to Management

Step out of the 1980's and look at modern working practices. Would really benefit from working on processes as everything is done manually. Would also benefit from celebrating (or at least acknowledging) success.

I worked at Performance Designed Products (More than a year)

    Pros

This is a spectacular group of people. Very motivated and very intelligent. It is a comfortable work environment that is fast paced and demanding but very fulfilling.

    Cons

Other than the occasional boxing match between departments (which is normal and expected) this is a great work environment. However, the company's CEO has to answer to it's parent company Patriarch Partners, which is a real challenge (and I'm being nice here by not going into details).

    Advice to Management

If you are considering employment as a member of the executive team, keep in mind that the interaction with Patriarch will be stressful and volatile. If you are arriving as a manager, you will be fine as long as you perform well and are dedicated to your job - - just like any other employer

    Pros

Very good team members to work with.

    Cons

I worked at Performance Designed Products full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Family-like environment. Work with nice people for the most part. Some positive management styles from different higher ups which encourage staff members.

    Cons

Not challenging enough and not enough work to do. Growing in the company seems like pulling teeth. While some higher ups appreciate camaraderie created by staff members, others discourage it, which is very strange.

    Advice to Management

Focus on talent more than tenure; it will lower the turnover rate

    Pros

Clock in your hours and leave. Family feeling. Really friendly people.

    Cons

CEO does not seem to understand the business. Not enough work to stay busy or challenged. Great performance is not rewarded. Seniority is valued over ability.

    Advice to Management

When something or someone isn't working out, be faster to change.
