I have been working at Performance Food Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone in the company has a positive attitude! I always feel like I am in a comfortable enviornement and everyone wants to help you learn.

    Cons

At times, there was not enough work for me today. I am a hard worker and like to stay busy but often times I found myself bored. Upper management always seemed suprised at how quickly interns were completing projects and did not have enough for us to do.

    Advice to Management

As the internship program grows, plan accordingly. Many times upper level management did not have anything planned because they were too busy themselves.

I worked at Performance Food Group (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great lunch and good people in the business to work with.

    Cons

Unprofessional and very poor IT Management. Archaic AS/400 green screen applications for their main ERP systems, and they outsource their IT developers. (Poor communicators and, well, you get what you pay for)

    Advice to Management

Totally replace upper level management in the organization, have HR get a grip on their employees, and get rid of HCL.

I have been working at Performance Food Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Old equipment constantly breaking down. Running out of time window due to bad routing, camera's in trucks and that's the good

    Cons

Read the pros and think about what your getting into. Nobody in management listens to anyone but themselves, handed us " new" handhelds with the old Microsoft program and can't be used with gloves. Good luck loading a hand truck and rolling food in a timely manner when your gloves are off and on.

    Advice to Management

    Listen

I worked at Performance Food Group as an intern (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The Marketing team is smart, hard-working and fun to be around. They are constantly trying to create better content and experiences for the PFG customers and associates. As an intern, I was treated like an associate and received real work to think through and produce, my opinions and ideas were valued, and I was brought into meetings at all levels.

The team was also very flexible with my schedule while I was in school.

    Cons

In a corporate environment, some things take longer to go through approval, and it wasn't any different at PFG.
