I have been working at Performance Friction Brakes full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Sorry folks, every situation is what you make of it. Don was extremely passionate about his company and was here 12 and more hours a day. He demanded that you have the same passion for his product that he had, and if this was your company you would demand the same. Nina has followed in his footsteps, and if you can't have the passion then step aside for those that do. If you are here to punch a clock, management will notice. I've been here 3 years and not once have I been yelled at. But that's because I do my job and make no excuses.

    Cons

Could use some updated equipment, tooling options.

    Advice to Management

Just keep doing what you are doing. In the last year we have put together a great group and I see a incredible future.

I worked at Performance Friction Brakes full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great fellow employees.... That's it.

    Cons

The owner is emotionally unstable and her psycho rants drag everyone along on a daily rollercoaster ride of fear and panic.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like fellow humans with at least average intelligence, not complete idiots that you are forced tolerate and correct.

I have been working at Performance Friction Brakes part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Tuition reimbursement plan is a giant plus. Management is fair and tries to connect with employees. Working in the office is challenging, but rewarding.

    Cons

Organizational structure needs work. Floor employees are generally kind, but not at a high level of intelligence. Employee training could use improvement. SAP system is very dated.

    Advice to Management

Clarify chain-of-command. Differentiate management positions so that crossover is more limited. More compartmentalization would speed up production.

    Pros

Not very many pros about this job. My coworkers were good to work with and many strive to be their best.

    Cons

Bare minimum pay for skilled labor. Management doesn't understand what it takes to produce the product and explodes verbally when their unrealistic expectations aren't met. You are nothing and will never be to the company.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, they are smarter than you think.

I worked at Performance Friction Brakes full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I guess the best part was some of the workers i met during my time there. Most were very nice.

    Cons

How long do you have? I thought this place would've took a better turn after the original owner, Don Burgoon, passed away back in September. Boy was I wrong. His daughter who now controls the company makes even worse decisions than he did. They have no confidence in their employees. Everybody gets treated like garbage. The owners husband does nothing but walk around looking for something to tell his wife or mother in law about in order to get someone fired. Unless you have a passion for how brakes are made and a low self esteem, dont waste your time here.

    Advice to Management

You have to give respect to earn respect. If you walk around acting like everybody is a piece of trash, dont expect them to want to work for you.

    Pros

It is a really good company to work for. You will learn a lot, especially if you a college student. The full time engineers are not only helping but also really good mentors.

    Cons

The pay is not as competitive as other firms. So, if your sole purpose is to earn money, I would recommend looking for some other place
