I have been working at Perfumania Holdings full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This company loves to celebrate the individual. I get to work with an amazing team, and my boss trusts, supports, and believes in me. They lost two employees in the horrible night club massacre. They donated $25,000 so the families could have a proper funeral for them.

    Cons

corporate to changes promotions quickly if they feel it is doing poorly. a lot of these promotional changes are happening on holidays.

    Advice to Management

try promotions for shorter periods of time so we don't lie to customers when we tell them how long a promotion will be.

    - No opportunity for growth
    - Unrealistic goals/expectations

I worked at Perfumania Holdings (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved my job because I loved selling perfume. The product is authentic and they're big on customer service.

    Cons

Closed my store and only gave me a three week notice. Did not really take care of me money wise or job wise, they kind of just left me jobless. The company does not really have a lot of room for you to grow in it as a professional.

    Advice to Management

Give your employees a longer and reasonable notice before you put them out of a job.

I worked at Perfumania Holdings full-time

    Pros

Positive Work Environment with friendly coworkers. Small monthly events such as a monthly breakfast where an individual department gets to explain what they do on a daily basis. A yearly beginning of the summer BBQ and a personal trainer on site that offers classes at least twice a week

    Cons

Poor communication between departments; when one department would make a decision it was not often thought about how it would affect other departments.

    Pros

Great seasonal job. Good commision programmes for sales people at all times.

    Cons

Follow up your paycheck, mistakes happened in big scales. 2008 tax forms were a mess. They had to correct and resend it all over. Not even to mention how inaccurate the checks were during 2008 holidays. They changed two of the 3 manager bonuses to be paid annually. You have to stick around 2 more months after year end and you might get your total last year`s manager bonus. People should be paid before their sweat dries off. The salaries are frozen and capped. You cant get a raise over a certain amount, and now, you cant even get a raise at all. And also forget about open door policy. District manager are trying to steal each others employees. Just all the way wrong.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Trust in their voice. You might be suprised what you can learn from them. You are loosing your good people. So much time and money is invested in these people. Just so sad to see all these people running away.
