    Pros

I worked here for a number of years and served in a few different capacities during my tenure at Peridot. The shop is a contract manufacturer working on the cutting edge of myriad emerging technologies with many of the biggest names in industry. The company takes on some of the most difficult and close-toleranced sheet metal, wire, and machining jobs out there and prides itself in doing what others can't or won't. More variety of in-house processes than I've seen at any other job shop. An excellent place to gain exposure to manufacturing processes beyond traditional CNC machining. They have everything from laser cutting & welding to cleanroom assembly, punching, & CNC sheet metal & wire machines.

    Cons

The commute to Pleasanton is difficult for most employees not living in the Tri-Valley. It is, of course, a fast-paced and challenging industry to be in, definitely not for those who can't handle the pressure of low-volume / high mix work or those who can't effectively "put out" the inevitable "fires" inherent in high-precision manufacturing.

    Advice to Management

Invest more into training and implementing appropriate lean manufacturing methods.
