    Pros

Cool place, inspiring people, great facilities including gym, basketball and racket ball courts. Interesting events where you get a behind the scenes glimpse.

    Cons

Stingy pay. Manager was a huge arrogant, sneaky mysogynist and pit women against each other. He knew which women to play to keep in back pocket and if another woman questioned him or bruised his massive ego he would run crying to a higher up woman whom he had wrapped around his finger. There are nice people there for sure but a few bad apples spoiling the culture.

    Advice to Management

Stop taking this guy at face value, do your homework before making snap judgements.

    Pros

Great working environment! Amazing HR team (they are called 'People & Culture).
Free coffee. Great tech support. Innovative and progressive team members.
Awesome culture. They hire great people and take care of them.

    Cons

Some of the 'old guard' who are, by now, in leadership roles, make it very hard to move new ideas forward. Can get frustrating at times.

    Advice to Management

Hold people accountable so we can continue being awesome.

I have been working at Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Leading physicists visit from all over the world
    - Profs and postdocs are top notch
    - Complete freedom to work on what you find interesting
    - Lots of resources, such as conference scheduling staff, restaurant in the building
    - Near University of Waterloo and the Institute for Quantum Computing, lots of interaction
    - Competitive postdoc salaries
    - Waterloo is a good town for networking with Canadian tech industry; also close to Toronto
    - Canada is easy to move to from other countries in terms of visa process

    Cons

    - Still forming its reputation, which may not be ideal for postdocs who want absolute top name recognition
    - Some turnover at the professor level, though may not be too important for postdocs who are short-term themselves
    - Some people find the city of Kitchener-Waterloo to be too small, but this depends on personal preference
    - Nearby airport is small; Toronto airport is over an hour away
