I worked at PerkinElmer full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good products for the most part. Innovative with products.

    Cons

Low compensation unless you are a top manager. Benefits average. Operations managers are slow to innovate and improve day-to-day operations.

    Advice to Management

Innovate. Especially in internal applications of informatics. Eat your own dog food. Be more innovative in benefits, salary and compensation. Let employees help drive process innovation. (Lead, follow, or get out of the way.)

I have been working at PerkinElmer full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

We work with the best and brightest in each field and we get to interact with clinicians, patients and other scientists regularly.

    Cons

There is a lot of shuffling of positions and people being promoted and hired somewhat haphazardly. Also there doesn't feel like there is a lot of growth opportunities here.

    Advice to Management

I would advice management to spend more time building and inspiring their scientists. it often feels like the people making products and applications are the ones most overlooked.
