I worked at Permasteelisa Group full-time

    Pros

Awesome group of people to work with. If you enjoy traveling once in a while it was nice to head to a project site or vendor

    Cons

Lots of overtime. Average week was 45+ hours. If you traveled to site ie leave at 4am return 7pm you were expected to still work normal hours the following day/week

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at Permasteelisa Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Interesting projects, good place to start your career, with multiple programs utilized to learn from. Some travel required.

    Cons

The place has a very cliquish environment. Sometimes it seems like I'm back in high school. Lots of nepotism. Some workers don't work full 40 hours. Come in late, leave at 5 or whenever. Multiple breaks taken.

    Advice to Management

People need to be treated fairly and like human beings. When I first started working in the department, I was ignored and left to fend for myself. I wasn't even introduced to the department until 2 weeks in. That being said, the work environment is changing for the better and going the right direction but at a snail's pace.

I worked at Permasteelisa Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great friendly work environment. Project meetings held weekly to make sure everything is on target. Tuition reimbursement after 1 year of work. Great healthy insurance.

    Cons

Strict 8-5 hours. No work from home allowed even during really bad weather/storms.

    Advice to Management

Allow for employees to work their hours even if its 9-6 or 7-4. So that it works out best for families, which will leave your employees happier who then will work harder.

    Pros

Good environment and reasonable accommodations. If you ever get hired permanently, there might be more pros

    Cons

They should warn people before firing them over little obvious things

    Advice to Management

Hire people for a permanent position instead of bleeding people dry from not obtaining benefits.

    Pros

At the start it was a good atmosphere to be in, good team work, everyone got along. Tons of back-logged work (for few years according to corporate). Benefits were good.

    Cons

Things went downhill after some months. Things became "corporate" in many areas, even little things (i.e. sign-in sheets of when you arrived and left the office). You didn't feel like you were appreciated. Blame was being thrown around and people were becoming discouraged. Tensions were building, and slowly people left because of the way it had become. Now the office is permanently closed.

    Advice to Management

If you want to survive listen to your people. Stop being so stuck in your ways.
