I worked at Pernix Therapeutics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company is small enough where management leaves you alone and lets you drive the sales in your territory, but name recognition is sometimes tough when you are trying to get into an office.

    Cons

Small company=no money for entertainment and hosting office luncheons. Budgets are constantly being cut and we are about to lose a migraine product based on patent life. Pain product was purchased about a year ago and that decision has led to the downfall of the company. There is currently an interim CEO in place and his job is to sell or take the company into bankruptcy.

    Advice to Management

    Keep your word.

I worked at Pernix Therapeutics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

No micromanagement. Good benefits. Friendly culture for the most part.

    Cons

Upper management drove the company into the ground. ZERO job security. The company could be sold or close doors very soon.

    Advice to Management

    Good luck.

I worked at Pernix Therapeutics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

RSD and co-workers made this place good. Benefits, and comp plan was above par but it took a while to really get to that point.

    Cons

Call metrics became more important than prospecting and finding the business. Management made awful decisions over past year and this place became a hell hole. Large territories made it hard to be home every night.

    Advice to Management

Good luck running this further into the ground.

  5. "Company with an identity crisis"

I have been working at Pernix Therapeutics full-time

    Pros

Depending on your Regional Director, very low micromanagement.

    Cons

Little pharma trying to be big pharma. Lots of changes in directives from upper management based on which way the wind happens to be blowing that day.

    Advice to Management

Get a uniform message and stick to it for longer than 3 months at a time. No continuity over time.

    Pros

Growing company, lots of room for red tape

    Cons

Terrible management, promotions to underperformers, budget cuts and no samples to drive business

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring people you know. Make representatives feel appreciated and compensate them for top performance.

I worked at Pernix Therapeutics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is only 1- Work very hard and use Pernix Therapeutics to get pharma experience and leave for a far better company, benefits and compensation after 1 year or 2 years max. Every company I have interviewed since has been 2 to 5 times the base salary and potential income.

    Cons

Cheap company that burns and turns employees every year just in time for the holiday

    Advice to Management

Hi Management you are awful. Only about the bottom line and the company constantly changes products every few months before they either become generic or fail.
