I have been working at Personalis full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Fantastic vision for cancer medicine Open kitchen and variety of food Free 15 min chair massage Good pay with annual bonus Quarterly fun events Some flexibility in work schedule, depending on the role Free gym

    Cons

No cons. Not enough conference rooms or parking spots; running out of free space in the current building

    Advice to Management

Some dedicated employees are stretched while others seem to input their minimum; pay attention even if no one complains and projects are moving ahead.

Great work life balance, no micromanagement on my team, fun people, and a lot of autonomy.

    Cons

Early growing pains in terms of infrastructure, but that is being worked out with each day.

I have been working at Personalis full-time

    Pros

Talented staff across all departments Senior-level managers/executives open to promoting from within Exciting product suite and corporate strategy Cutting-edge of immuno-oncology research and services Friendly, supportive day-to-day working environment

    Cons

Still "startup-y" in certain respects -- both good (agile decision-making) and bad (can result in some disorganization) Benefits are not on the same level as high-profile tech unicorns

    Advice to Management

As the company scales, control over all decisions will have to be relinquished and delegated more freely.

    I worked at Personalis full-time

    Pros

Good people with good intentions, even the senior managers. Typical start up goodies: ping pong, snacks. Operations team is awesome and the managers are very smart. Company is stable.

    Cons

Not strategic or set up for continued growth. Three people make all the decisions for the company down to the minutia. Unqualified people in high ranking positions because they had threatened to leave at some point. High turnover, which is suspiciously never broadcast by HR. Micro managers are plentiful.

    Advice to Management

Don’t hire smart people if you don’t want to listen to them.

    I worked at Personalis full-time

    Pros

Free food and drinks. Company events.

    Cons

Executives are micromanagers, employees have no voice. Senior leaders think they know it all. Career advancement is typically available only to those employees that threaten to leave.

    Advice to Management

    LISTEN TO EMPLOYEES!

    Cons

Nothing to think off at this time.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!
