I have been working at Personify

    Pros

Personify's culture is top notch. Upper management takes time to listen to all employees and make adjustments when necessary. Work life balance is vital and Personify acknowledges this. Personify is on the rise and definitely makes sure to take care of its most vital resource: Employees!

    Cons

No apparent Cons to deter anyone!

    Pros

Not a bad place if you need to rack up experience fresh out of college or when making a career transition. Benefits and pay are on par with the rest of the Austin tech scene. The office is in a beautiful location close to hiking trails and the lakes. The culture here is cozy and most of the clients have admirable missions. HR and some team leads try to facilitate cohesion with birthday and holiday celebrations, snacks, and the occasional swag. Working from home is an option in a lot of teams.

    Cons

Inefficiency is the theme here. Upper management and executive staff need an overhaul. Time management, budget management, and process management are flawed across multiple departments. Blame games and lack of ownership lead to serious organizational issues stagnating for months. Death by meetings and corporate jargon... This is one of those work places that people make meeting memes for. Documentation and training are nonexistent. These inefficiencies are not ideal, but they're tolerable if you don't plan to stay here long.

    Advice to Management

Ride that sweet Wild Apricot train into the sunset. Stop beating the dead horses that are P360 and SWC.

    Pros

Compensation, unlimited PTO, Austin office is decent.

    Cons

Boys club in upper management, legacy customers leaving left and right, non existent marketing.

    Advice to Management

Stop all development on the on premise platform and focus on a fully functional web based application.

I have been working at Personify full-time

    Pros

Work Environment- The Austin office is beautiful and most employees (leadership included) are pretty laid back and approachable. There's a celebration for everything (free food!) and new employee appreciation lunches. I think it's pretty obvious that employees in the Vienna, VA office have a very different experience, but the morale in Austin is just fine. The recent news is that they are working on a new office space for Vienna employees, so maybe that will change the morale/work environment. Talent- The majority of the people in the departments I work closely with are helpful and know what they are doing. There are a lot of new hires that are fairly young, but I don't think that's a negative. Flexibility- The PTO and Remote Employee policies allow for flexibility, a HUGE plus Pay/ Performance Reviews- I was offered a fair salary and raises based on performance reviews. Sounds like this might not always be the case based on previous reviews, but I feel I've been rewarded fairly for a job well done.

    Cons

Benefits- Benefits are PRICEY and not super impressive considering what you pay. Whenever HR receives negative feedback about benefits/ policies, it's generally NOT a friendly response. Some "clique-y" groups, specifically among upper management folks who worked with the CEO at previous companies. Seems like the employees with prior relationships with CEO are the first/quickest to be promoted. This has caused a bit of grumbling, but some office politics are the norm, right? Communication- I've seen huge improvement over the past 6 months, but a lot of employees still have a feeling that there's always something upper-management/ executives aren't telling us. Lots of would-be sales that never come to fruition, no transparency to the investors that own the company, mixed messages from leadership, etc.

    Advice to Management

I enjoy working for Personify and I know the executives want the best for the company as a whole, but I think its time to address some of the longstanding concerns with employee benefits. Hold mid/upper management accountable for training their teams properly. Keep up the open door policy and continue showing employees that we are valued. Learn to trust your employees and share what's REALLY going on- good or bad!

I have been working at Personify

    Pros

Great work atmosphere and professional environment. Upper management stays involved with company employees

    Cons

May not utilize all of employees potential. This can cause employees to look elsewhere for work.

I have been working at Personify full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Most everyone is friendly. Pay is competitive.

    Cons

Some of the upper management was promoted based on their personal indiscretions, not experience or work performance. It was common knowledge within the company. Highly unprofessional.

    Advice to Management

Train your management on proper, legal counseling and termination procedures. A lawsuit could have easily been filed in my case. Review your management team. They focus on the issue, but do nothing to find a solution. They need training on how to manage effectively. Provide confidential surveys online for current employees.

    Pros

Competitive salaries, if you can talk much you can survive ...this policy really works here. Upper management people are influenced by mid -management people...so you know what is happening here:) Technical folks are very good helping each other. CEO ,Edi is a nice human being but he is not aware with ground reality.

    Cons

Mid level management people are waste. they do nothing except accepting butter :) furnishing oil. They create chaos and making working culture worst. What will happen if you don't have anything to do but just butter .Knowledgeable People are fired due to politics.

    Advice to Management

Make mid level management billable. Tech services is a dummy entity. All the techs works with PM and that's how billabilty is maintained. Base team is their to support tech issues for PS techs. Do you really need guys to just forward emails!

    Pros

Competitive salaries, some flexibility depending on who you know.

    Cons

Very political in upper management. Also, upper management CEO, COO, have no clue what they are doing it's like watching the Ground Hog's day movie over and over.......

    Advice to Management

Start over and get rid of the entire management team including CEO, COO. Treat your employees-all employees with respect something they don't do here unless your in their click.

I have been working at Personify full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Competitive pay, bonus for good numbers

    Cons

Negative attitude persists at all levels in the corporation. Nasty emails and talking behind peoples backs is common. Established political groups have closed door meetings to ensure job security. Everyone in the organization is scared of the owner and COO so priorities are aligned towards presenting the best picture to them rather than the truth. However, strangely enough the managing director of professional services feels comfortable enough to openly mock them in large meetings. The only real concern by upper management is that you hit your numbers. This creates a survivalist atmosphere where employees are unwilling to cooperate with each other. The only real cooperation comes from political groups that have banded together. You must hit a certain number of billable hours every month or you will have a target on your back. Management has monthly meetings where they review spreadsheets to identify who hasn't hit enough hours. However, once you figure out how the timesheet system works there is opportunity to fudge your numbers - this seems to be standard practice for some employees. Even putting all of the above aside, it's just not a pleasant place to work. Perhaps it's because the owner fashions himself to be Steve Jobs Jr. or perhaps it's the focus on revenue generation, but there is an overwhelming sense of uneasiness within the organization.

    I worked at Personify

    Pros

The people were the best reason to work at TMA Resources.

    Cons

The upper management is intrenched at the company and are very hard to convince to try new innovative ideas. If you are looking for a company to get ahead at and possibly learn in a good environment I would look elsewhere. Office Politics are hard to overcome in this company. Unless you are skilled in navigating these waters I would try a different company.

    Advice to Management

Seek outside help and hire on a seasoned leadership team. With this addition the company may actually be able to improve.
