    Pros

The supervisors are professional. The company technical staff are knowledgeable and practical. The indoor work environment is good. They also offer leisure facilities for relaxation.

    Cons

The work gives people high pressure. Working overtime commonly happens. The salary gap between common staff level and leadership is huge. Sometimes the management is low efficient.

    Pros

Full package good including 100% health insurance, free gym, free dinning etc / low working pressure/ Friendly colleagues

    Cons

Bureaucratic/ promotion channel is narrow unless you are someone that has a "background"/ not performance driven bad place for ambitious traders but good place for retired ones.

    Advice to Management

Management should be aware of the inequality among employees in terms of promotion and bonus.

    Pros

With wide range of benefits for senior engineers, including real estate, subsidies, etc. With the largest number of oil fields and most advanced upstream techniques of China

    Cons

Pretty bureaucratic, and underlying corruptions almost everywhere. Need to get used to Chinese Guanxi culture to stay in the organisation. Not a good place for young professionals to start their careers.

    Advice to Management

Simplify administrative structure, make recruitment process transparent to all applicants, especially avoid relatives enter into the organisation prior to other applicant without testing and screening.

  8. "Good company but needs to monitor the amount of authority given to station managers."

I worked at PetroChina full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great benefits
    Good colleagues
    Average pay.
    Strong emphasis on customer service.
Lots of opportunities to do OT.

    Cons

The management system in the service station is toxic. Managers are always shouting, scolding or abusing their authority. Managers frequently ask cashiers to collect money for certain items without giving receipts to customers. Feels really dishonest and something is definately amiss. Managers frequently display bad examples like going for long breaks, and taking shop items without paying for them. Also sometimes, using the excess money from daily sales and keeping it for themselves. When we have a shortage, we are however, not allowed to use our extra money from a previous day to cover our shortfall.

    Advice to Management

Please monitor the amount of authority you are giving your station managers. My managers are husband and wife which i strongly urge you to look into because having a couple in the same station is unhealthy for the general environment. And furthermore it is completely unfair for the staff as there is absolutely no one we can turn to for support when either one of our managers has treated us unfairly. We are left helpless. I hope someone.. whether you are in Singapore or China will get this and something can be done soon. You guys are losing so many valuable staff because of people like these.
