I have been working at PharMEDium Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent starting rates. Provides a level of compounding experience you’d likely not get elsewhere. Opened up many amazing opportunities for me in my career

    Cons

They can’t communicate, and that means lack in quality products & patient safety. Management needs a lot of help to learn proper business practices

    Advice to Management

Communicate better. Stop showing favoritism , and stop promoting employees that constant cause drama to lead positions

    Pros

    Getting a paycheck and benefits.

    Cons

Where to begin. The processes are convoluted without any direction. They need to streamline their processes.

    Advice to Management

Hire competent people or properly train entry level associates.

    Pros

Good pay and very good benefits.

    Cons

This subsidiary of AmerisourceBergen does not behave in line with parent company's mission. Headquarters location is toxic due to mid and senior managers. There are managers that use intimidation but suffer no consequences. One manager did push another manager but was not fired like one review states. Same manager allowed to publicly berate employees and other co-workers. Other managers have used that tactic as well to some extent. Repeated calls to 800 number yield no results. Upper (VPs & President) management sits apart from most of the employees making them unengaged so they have no idea or do not care about any of it. Based on how morale was handled over the last year while dealing with challenges, it is likely that they just do not care. HR has been ineffective to date especially on some of the worst managers.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employee engagement survey results. Clean house on the toxic management.

    Pros

Not many here to discuss. Good benefits package.

    Cons

Overworked and underpaid. Training is non-existent and you are required to work an enormous amount with a 30 minute lunch. You also won't find top IT talent at this organization.

    Advice to Management

    Find better IT management.

I have been working at PharMEDium Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Hourly wages for CPhT are higher than any pharmacy in town. (Still not "high paying" though)
    Holidays & Weekends off
    Valuable experience
    Stability
    Great benefits

    Cons

This career isn't for everyone, yes there is a heavy work load, yes you have to wear a full suit to protect medication from BACTERIA.
It can get hot in the clean room sometimes
Unprofessional collegues: I've experienced this just about everywhere in Memphis though. Some of the pharmacists are unprofessional as well. There's a lot of profanity, street slang, gossiping & inappropriate conversation. Most of the technicians are very smart, just not the classiest people.

    Advice to Management

    None at the time...

    Pros

Good benefits, competitive pay, office location was nice.

    Cons

Horrible internal communications, often conflicting messages were sent throughout the company and nobody ever knew what was going on. Employees were usually left to themselves to figure out what was going on regularly. Very passive aggressive corporate culture. Often witnessed public fights between managers and/or employees on the main floor in front of dozens of other employees. Some managers were almost psychologically abusive towards certain employees depending on their level of favoritism. I saw one employee regularly get chewed out by her manager publicly for very minimal things, and the language used from the manager was mind blowing. One manager shoved another manager and was not fired. I witnessed meetings where managers would badger their employees and/or each other in front of their peers. One manager clearly violated medical privacy laws of their employee who was out of medical reasons and nothing happened. A report was filed but the employee never heard back from HR. The communication is terrible. Not a healthy work environment. They try to mask the negative internal environment with random corporate functions where they bring in food or have raffles and prize giveaways for employees. However it isn't fooling anyone because all you have to do is talk to any employee off the record and they will tell you how it's some of the worst internal communication you've ever seen in a fortune 500 company. Upper management looks the other way and nothing changes. Good luck talking to anyone from HR. They definitely do not listen to you and often give you some 800 number to call which usually results in you leaving a voicemail message but never hearing back from anyone. You'll often get calls or texts on your days off or after hours, sometimes holidays, from management wanting something from you. Just look else where for employment. There are 30 fortune 500 companies within a 7 mile radius of this place.

    Advice to Management

Do nothing at usual and nothing changes. Do something proactive and things change. It's common sense people, really. I genuinely don't think upper management cares, until there's a PR problem which is inevitable. You'll need to get rid of a lot of your mid-level managers. They are the real problem.
