    Pros

Store teams are amazing. That is all.

    Cons

You will not be paid what you're worth. You will not have growth opportunities because they refuse to pay a minimum wage. Right now several stores are not even getting that because people are too afraid to lose the really bad medical benefits from this company. They haven't given a cost of living wage raise the 4 years I was there. Before they got bought by Medly (which is spelled wrong Marq, btw) I thought they would be turning around. No. It is getting worse. The only thing this company needs to do is pay people enough to live in the city they work in. It is unethical to do otherwise, but this is probably why they revoked their ethics hotline.

    Great community pharmacy environment

    Pros

versus other retail pharmacy chains, Pharmaca feels like working in a spa. They staff estheticians and herbalists in their front store to help customers find and choose front store products. Pharmacy only has to get involved when a customer asks about OTC drugs. Front store is adequately staffed so no losing techs to covering the register, and nobody interrupting your focus to ask where the candy aisle is. Corporate had very reasonable requirements of pharmacy, and there were not a ton of people in the management chain with their bonuses tied to you hitting impossible metrics. Higher ups actually seem to care about their boots on the ground and don't treat you like a machine.

    Cons

Its still community pharmacy. You still get unreasonable patients, people who have no idea what pharmacy does, you still have to deal with doctors offices and insurances. Patients here tend to be slightly more entitled and "superior," although the customer base is much more pleasant on average than your normal big box. Also, Pharmaca provides them with a lot less to be med about, so these interactions are rarer but the do still happen. Like all successful pharmacy chains, there's a chance they take a huge cash out from one of the big boxes at some point. So you run the risk of winding up working for WAGs or CVS anyways (see: Target pharmacy). If they ever do decide to go for a buyout they are probably going to pump up their metrics to maximize their valuation, so in the few years before that buyout would hypothetically occur, you'd probably be getting hassled on metrics and getting hours cut.
