High Turn Over - huge waste of time

May 11, 2019 - Network Manager in Denver, CO
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Climbing through the ranks is quick, but money won’t follow. More responsibility and quick title changes but the pay does not even come close.

    Cons

Micromanaging, inadequate pay, extremely high turnover

Nice people, hard workers--but poor management and erratic hiring decisions

    May 9, 2015 -  in Denver, CO
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Good salary, perks like free meals once a week and plenty of high-quality refreshments, attractive office, courteous coworkers (won't make a lot of noise to disturb you in the open floor plan), free parking within a block of the office--sometimes in the garage. Lots or opportunities to learn about CROs and the medical research study process.

    Cons

Employees who are brought on overtime-exempt may be expected to work heavy overtime to get the job done instead of bringing in additional help--sometimes because they don't hire qualified people, so it's up to their successors or other employees to make up for it. Not a big company, so there may not be promotional opportunities depending on your department. Often best as a stepping-stone to positions with other companies in the industry (going into clinic/study management, etc.). Management doesn't plan well and sometimes hires the wrong people for certain positions--they talk big, but make a lot of mistakes, and the employees end up paying for it.

I have a love hate relationship with this job.

Feb 5, 2018 - Scooping Operator in Lindon, UT

    Pros

The friendships you make, and every first Wednesday of the moth the big bosses call a meeting and sometimes they give out prizes to the employees. The pay isn’t bad. And they offer overtime.

    Cons

Lack of communication, lots of heavy lifting and you’re working with dangerous materials with bosses that aren’t very grateful. Newer employees are careless and make your job more dangerous.

    Hard working employees, transitioning management

Sep 17, 2012 - Anonymous Employee in Denver, CO
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Small company, professional staff, high quality work product, strong work ethic, and mission-driven. There is a real commitment to improve the company and it's happening from within.

    Cons

Transitioning under new management, specifically a new CEO. They are currently under staffed and subject to budget constraints. Employees work through lunch to get their work done.

    Run - FAST!

    Jul 25, 2016 -  in Denver, CO

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Majority of employees are junior but extremely nice, respectful, hard working, and want to learn how to work in clinical research.

    Cons

Unfortunately, executive level support is severely lacking and/or they think they know better than the FDA as far as how research should be run so they do not advocate following regulations that they feel are 'just paperwork' (eg, regulatory document requirements, HIPPA regs, etc). Run for the hills umless you want your name associated with a half assed company with integrity being extremely low on their priority list and less than a dozen or so employees to do the work of twice that! And, definitely don't contract for them if you want to get paid for your work!

  8. 2.0
Former Employee, more than 1 year

    Pros

Form great friendships with coworkers. There is room for growth if you are good at what you do and willing to work hard. This was my first "office job" and was surprised at how much time we got for lunch, coffee breaks, mental breaks

    Cons

Cubicle atmosphere, many meetings, poor management, high turnover with employees ( I was there 1 year and saw approx. 6 people come/go), dissatisfied clients, always behind in paying clients, poor communication with managers. Although not directly responsible it always made me nervous to feel that we were one step away from going under

    Moving in the right direction

May 23, 2016 - Associate Project Manager in Denver, CO
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

I am a full-time, current employee. With recent changes in staffing, Pharmatech is moving in the right direction. Current employees are motivated and proficient in getting their work done.

    Cons

Employees are given a lot of responsibilities. However, those who are able to accomplish their goals are given a lot of opportunities for growth within the company.

NOTE: All of the postive reviews are submitted by upper management

    May 2, 2016 - Anonymous

    Business Outlook

    Pros

A number of good, honest & hardworking people on the team but upper management is the least concerned about taking care of their employees.

    Cons

Many (most whom are no longer there because they were either laid off or fired for no valid reason, most will agree) are deserving of being recognized for their hard work but only the favorites to upper management seem to be promoted and given raises. Both reviews titled "employee" and "Hard choices" were written by upper management, as a previous reviewer stated, only to make the company look better. There is nothing good about the current environment.
