    CEO on down to not know what they are going which causes massive layoffs because of their incompetence

    Advice to Management

    Leave and let someone competent do the jib.

    Stop paying yourselves a higher salary then there be more housing available for those who need it and less massive layoffs

    Overall, employees werecaring and actively assisted clients to obtain self-sufficiency and life improvement.

    Cons

    Lack of adherence to chain-of-command and inconsistent treatment of employees in regards to employee and staffing issues.

    lack of leadership and a lot of insurance fraud within the organization.

    Cons

    lack of leadership and a lot of insurance fraud within the organization. Inside job stealing equipment and appliances that suppose to go for repairs of low income tenants. Employees supervisor have these items in there house are property that they own and rent.

    Advice to Management

    Need to weed out people that was there to long they are part of the problem.

    Rank and file staff were great to work
    When training was given; usually very good
    Great Benefits
    Common goal of affordable housing worthy cause
    Pay was good-but could better

    Cons

    Executive/Sr/Mid managers staffers were divisive, corrupt and nastily to all who worked under them
    Very little room for professional growth unless liked by management
    Sometimes heavy turn-over

    In working the right department, your experience could lead to a long career, or could provide valuable experience that could benefit you in the private sector.

    Pros

    Outstanding training opportunities, co-workers, supervisors were awesome. This was a great first step into Property Management which ultimately became my career.

    Cons

    The salary was low, when coupled with the fact of the dangerous environments. Once I learned the residents, however, the environment became more tolerable.

    Advice to Management

    My advise to potential management would be to take the time to respect the residents and co-workers. It will make the day to day functions more valuable.

    Pros

    Good benefits and awesome people to work with. There was never really any pressure to get things done. If you're a student you can do your homework while on the job.

    Cons

    It is really difficult and almost impossible to get promoted. At one point my boss stated that you have to move around a lot to get promoted.

    I have been working at Philadelphia Housing Authority full-time

    Pros

    Once you get in, it is hard to get fired. They have great benefit. Slow pace great place to slowly learn your position. A lot of people make a career out of their job.

    Cons

    Slow pace, unless a major project is going on. You will mainly do a lot of busy work. Hard to advance.
