I have been working at Philip Morris USA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great pay for hourly, decent benefits, profit sharing second to none.

    Cons

As in all industries you can get a bad supervisor that tries to make your world hard but for the most part a good atmosphere. Overtime can be rough at times. sometimes forced 7days and 12 hours

    Advice to Management

    Listen to employees.

I have been working at Philip Morris USA full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Can work without talking to anyone all day. Free t-shirts, Join a team and sit in the break room all day instead of doing audits. The more teams you join the less you have to be on the floor actually working. Non-productive is the key to easy weekly pay! You don't have to be smart or think for the production jobs here. Free vouchers to the cafeteria when you behave. Throw me a banana!

    Cons

Forced over time, pay is average for VA you have to work over time to make the money you could make at a professional job with no over time. The majority of the workers are uneducated and act is if they are field workers. NO room for advancement unless you want to be a BUL and give up your pension for demeaning work. Too many interns. The CEO needs to cut pension, hire contractors, and put the uneducated workers back in their place. The company does not really pay for school. None of the workers go anyway. If you just want physical work with no meaning PMUSA is where it is. Generations of families work there with no real goals. Too many of the salaried workers hope to get to headquarters one day but they stay in the positions for decades and add no value to the company. The CEO needs to do a overhaul and clean house. Save money and get rid of the over paid workers! Anyone could do those jobs for $9 an hour and be proud! Poor union. Union workers are machine operators who love the time off the floor lol.

    Advice to Management

Clean house and notice that your workers are overpaid and many are not retiring because of this and all of the committees you pay workers to be on doing audits is just time that they ride the clock, Your tenured salaried workers stay in positions and do nothing to add value. Hire more innovative university grads and replace the operators on the floor with contractors. The work isn't hard at all. You can hire people to do the physical work running machines for way less! Force these people to go out and take the time to educate themselves. Hire students who are looking for valuable experiences and want to learn the product life cycle. Replace non productive BUL's who sit in the offices all day.

    Pros

Good benefits, salary, bonus for someone out of college. You also receive company car, paid internet, cell phone, and paid internet.

    Cons

This ship is going down hard. The sinking isn't happening as fast as the Titanic but it's happening! executive management is incompetent pushing out promotional deals and programs that don't work

    Advice to Management

Get back to basics like treating your sales people right. We are the bread and butter that keep this ship going.
