I have been working at Phillip Townsend Associates full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

None. I should have researched the company better before accepting the offer. I feel stuck here. Competent and experienced Managers do not last here due to CEO behavior.

    Cons

Incompetent CEO runs the company like a dictator. Business Directors have no authority and everyone is treated very unprofessionally by him. Analysts work hard but get treated like dirt by management. Very abusive corporate environment. Clients are also treated poorly and work products are poor in quality. Stay away if you want a good work environment.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with respect and value their contributions. Improve quality of work products.

None. It is a mistake to be here. I feel I am stuck.

    Cons

Poor leadership and management. Poor product quality. No care for their clients.

    Advice to Management

Sharpen up. Listen to employees. Get them involved. Hear their opinions.

I have been working at Phillip Townsend Associates full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are OK for a small company, some flexibility in work hours and cannot work from home, which helps work/life balance

    Cons

Biggest downside is the micro-managing CEO. He delegates nothing to his staff, whether analysts or directors. he does not trust people to do their jobs. his management style (as it is) is to be a bully and a dictator. Company board is ineffective in challenging the CEO. Ultimately it is a one-man company...

    Advice to Management

create a 2nd executive role (split president and CEO roles) to balance the decision making and authority - make the roles equal - to create and improve the decison making culture

I have been working at Phillip Townsend Associates full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very good hours (almost nobody works late). Impossible to work from home. No emails, hence no disruptions at home. Work is mundane and easy.

    Cons

Work is mundane and easy - very few skills to be learned, if any. Young professionals do not add much to their skill set.

Decision making is very tightly controlled by two or three individuals with no transparency regarding fixed or variable compensation for employees.

No emphasis on professional development or employee retention.

    Advice to Management

Offer better salaries and include employees in decision making. Institute a proper training protocol for new hires.
