I have been working at Phillips & Jordan full-time

    Pros

A strong company that has ample resources and ensures it's employees has the necessary resources to grow and accomplish great tasks.

    Cons

The company's organization structure causes it's employees to sacrifice family and personal time to ensure the companies success

    Advice to Management

Restructure the company to allow regional offices to satisfy the multiple markets it competes in.

I have been working at Phillips & Jordan full-time

    Pros

None, my entire experience here was extremely negative.

    Cons

In place personnel is very easily threatened by experienced help. Not a lot of room for advancement at all. Most employees are stuck up and don't go out of their way to be friendly. Never worked anywhere where coworkers were so rude. It was like being in middle school, many of them didn't get along. Health insurance very high. Who wants to work somewhere with such a negative vibe?

    Advice to Management

HR training is very much needed. You will lose valued employees if they aren't made to feel welcomed.

I worked at Phillips & Jordan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working with Phillips and Jordan paved the way for my career. If you think you need an opportunity to test your limits, have an opportunity to work with some of the highly skilled administrative and field staff, perform and succeed, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU ! You will have all the support you need to do what you are doing.

You get to work with some highly skilled great people who would recognize your potential, give you an opportunity to perform and grow with the company. Travel, work, grow along with the company.

    Cons

There are no CONS here, if you read the pro's I listed above, you should also know that it means that you will be travelling a lot, working long hours most times on critical projects. That means less personal and family time. So KNOW HOW TO MANAGE TIME IF YOU WANT TO BE HERE!

    Advice to Management

    My opinion is:
I strongly recommend a program for better resource management.
Executives/ Project managers need to better monitor hours logged and work performed by employees to understand if the job needs extra resources.

Every office needs to have this program and know when not to let employees burn out from work and know when to give them a break. This has to be structured from the management side and not wait until an employee requests for it.

Also my another sincere opinion and recommendation to *HR* would be to at least to check if the annual appraisal program is even followed in every division. The bonus is good, but employees would like a formal annual appraisal and hike based on performance every year. You have got to start doing this if you don't want people to move elsewhere if they find a better opportunity.

    Pros

    Quality team members
    Competitive pay
    Travel opportunities
    Above average health insurance options
    Nice benefits package
Top tier global and personal safety program

    Cons

    Temperamental/seasonal work
    Irregular hours
Unpredictable stability depending upon division and contract management.
No opportunities for management training... in place management become job scared easily when faced with opposition.

    Advice to Management

Know when and how to better utilize your workforce before you decide to hire them outside of their skill set.

    I worked at Phillips & Jordan full-time

    Pros

Great leaders, perfect for people that don't have experience since they try help you take a project straight from 0.

    Cons

The only con for me was that it was located in Zephyrhills so the drive was far and traffic could be encountered on the way.

    Advice to Management

None, the executive board was good and reachable. They are more knowledgeable people so they are definitely an example to follow.

I have been working at Phillips & Jordan (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A family owned company atmosphere that spans down to individual vice-presidents and project managers. You are encouraged to get involved of all aspects of a project and challenged to make that project better than it looks on paper. Hard work is recognized, and voicing your opinion is accepted.

    Cons

*As any big company with multiple projects, sometimes communications are lost.

*Balancing life at home and on the road is difficult at times.

*If you build a niche, sometimes it is hard to grow in the company, you have to stay on managers and vice presidents if you want to excel to something more.

*There isn't any position that has a standard of training. Most training is OTJ and it differs from Division and Project Manager.

    Advice to Management

Needs a better training structure for new employees and employees looking to transfer into new roles.

I worked at Phillips & Jordan full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Had the latest Primavera Software, great new office setting in the Greensboro Area, local eateries, close to shopping, workout facilities, commute was not bad either 20 minutes all interstate.

    Cons

    where do I start;
    1. Management at the Greensboro Office, belittled employees on a daily basis, no leadership, guidance or support if you had any issues with a schedule or project information
    2. Worked late when projects were due, but did not tell you about it until an hour before and ask you to stay late, so if you had any plans you had to cancel
    3. 90 Day Review, management "Page Riley"did not care, or take the review serious
    4. Offer Letter stated an increase after 90 days, that was not honored by management
    5. HR in Knoxville TN, no support for employee issues in the office
    6. 5 employees left the Greensboro Office within a 3 month stand for treatment by management in the field and office.

Other Than All Of The Above "A Great Place To Work"
