I worked at Phoenixville Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

As a patient access registrar, I was fortunate to work with some wonderful clerical and clinical employees as well as help many patients with their needs. I learned much and enjoyed the comradery that I found with most of my fellow employees and some supervisors from other departments.

    Cons

Working here was truly a terrible experience. Most higher management, the last 3 of the registration department directors and all but one department supervisor were incompetent at their jobs and destroyed the morale of the department. We were expected to do our jobs without having even basic supplies or proper equipment. I hope that with this hospital under new management and under a NON-PROFIT focus, Phoenixville Hospital can actually regain much of the respect it once had.

    Advice to Management

It would be in the best interests of the patients, the employees and the hospital if management actually made efforts to treat the patients and the employees with actual concern and respect. Focusing only on money, shareholders and personal self-interests caused a lot of good employees and patients to find a better hospital to be a part of.

    Pros

Small Hospital, get to know everyone. Flexible hours.

    Cons

Corporate doesn't give much of a raise, co-pays are high for the insurance plan offered. No holiday bonus, just a free Turkey.

    Advice to Management

    Need to keep employees satisfied.

I worked at Phoenixville Hospital full-time

    Pros

Most co-workers were great. Most of the employees who actually provide patient care are wonderful and are there because they value their career and their patients.

    Cons

Will do anything to save a buck...it insures the managers get their bonuses. Management refuses to acknowlege problems. Doesn't take long to realize no one has your back. Many of us had never been written up prior to working here. Nothing is user friendly. Was not like this with prior owners. Clueless as to what it takes to run a successful business. CEO is unprofessional. HR is worthless. Billing is a mess. Scheduling and registration is a joke. Lousy communication between managers and directors. They really think a lot of themselves. But you are not important...until they have no one to cover a shift or call.Beware.

    Advice to Management

You know your mission statement? Read it and try to abide by it yourselves. Learn to value your employees. How many need to quit before you finally get it?

    Pros

Good and conscientious co-workers. Otherwise, this hospital is getting worse every year with no support from management.

    Cons

Perpetually short-staffed, no support from management, and smaller and smaller rate increases every year. Do not work for this FOR-PROFIT hospital.

I have the best coworkers and mangers. Everyone is patient focused!

    Cons

I have no cons about this position. Some doctors communicate better than others, but that's expeced.
