I have been working at Phonoscope full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good place to learn about telecom and get experience to land a better job in a similar industry. A lot of big personalities, can be fun at times.

    Cons

Small company with no advancement, no raises, and very poor management. Have never had a review since working here. A lot of favoritism and nepotism.

I worked at Phonoscope as a contractor

    Pros

pay was oaky, but not worth the headaches

    Cons

I had 2 product managers and a CEO telling me what to do, and none of them communicated to each other

    Pros

Overall its a good company to work for. Good job security, No-ones gets laid off.

    Cons

They only care about the results and don't care about the individual hard work of the regular working guy. A small company so there is no room to grow.

I have been working at Phonoscope full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked in the NOC. It is a fairly easy job and pretty low stress. Plenty of down time at work to browse the internet. Free healthcare is a BIG plus. You will need to be comfortable in a small company environment. The job can be very fun sometimes and at other times very stressful but the stressful days are in the minority. Should be understood that this job is always a temp to hire through a different company.

    Cons

werid shifts if you are new. It is a 24 hour company. Pay is kinda low for a tech job but understandable based on their requirements.

    Advice to Management

change from business casual to casual dress code.

    Pros

The pay is okay but then the disfunction soon out weighs the pay.

    Cons

No training just friendships. As long as you remain friends and don't upset a manager or upset someone the manager likes then you remain safe and can work here for years.

    Advice to Management

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. The management you put your faith in has multiple personalities.

People like the one above^ who lie to make the company seem better than it is
One of the lowest paid in the industry
Too much work for too few of people
    work steadly keeps building
    poor raises/bonus'
I have worked a 20 hour shift here before
management is stuck in their ways and will not change
management has no concern for their employees only the dollar signs.
